Who would you keep?

I'd keep Ennis, Kaleta, Gerbe and Adam. The rest can go, including the coaching staff, and especially those like Roy, Vanek, Miller and Tyler Myers, who you could get a big return for. (if you're a good GM)

I can't believe Regier called some of these losers "assets"! Who (besides Miller) is even close to being an asset? This is literally the worst team in the league, how many "assets" can you possibly have!

Miller, Myers, maybe Roy (always need a #2 center), McCormick, Montador. That's probably about it for me. You might be able to talk me into the 3 other young D-men and Ennis. Blow this ###### up. It is major overhaul time.

Vanek might make good trade bait if you can find a team that can fit his salary under the cap. Let Connolly walk. You'll get maybe a draft pick if you keep him until the trade deadline. Stafford isn't part of the future, move him. Pomminstein might have decent trade value. Grier is spent. So is Neidermayer. They are worthless as trade bait. Gaustad might have value at the deadline. I don't think many teams bite on Kaleta. He doesn't score, doesn't fight, and the refs tag him for more penalties than he draws most nights. Hecht might have decent value to a team looking for the final piece before the playoffs. Rivet is done at the NHL level. Time ofr him to get used to the idea of life after hockey. Gerbe will never amount to anything. Send him back to Portland and leave him there.

What a fine collection of talent they are.

But they're all good people.

I don't want good people on my hockey team. I want the 20 meanest ba$tards we can find. These choir boys and guitar zeros aren't getting the job done.

Ain't that the truth !!

Where has that kind of moxy gone? I miss that mean little son of a b!tch Donald Audette. And remember LaFontaine getting his revenge on Jamie Macoun for the broken jaw? Or how about Mike Foligno doing whatever needed to be done? Or Michael Peca trying to take someone's head off. There just isn't any of those kinds of player on this team. All of our "stars" are feaking marshmallows. This team needs some nasty on it. Some emotion. Some freaking compete.

Can anyone imagine Connolly, vanek, or Roy doing what Joe Thorton just did the other night? I'd welcome it right about now.

YES!!! Marshmallows is SUCH a perfect description! I say keep Grier and Niedermayer, though. They have Weight/Recchi potential. Kaleta=Heart and soul. Of course Miller. Trade Vanek, he obviously does NOT want to be in Buffalo. Maybe to Minnesota for Koivu and Backstrom(Miller needs a backup that isn't Swiss cheese), and Madden. Then prissy boy can be home wif hims Mommy. Myers, get your head out of your keester! This boy could be a total butt kicker if he wasn't so spoiled. Adam, Gerbe, Ennis, time to shine. Talk to Chicago, get little Patty over here. Trade, trade, TRADE!!!

Know what I didn't like most about that? How the Schopp or Bulldog character had the chance to really nail him on the fact that he wouldn't name his "best players" after saying that he wouldn't trade his "best players", but balked, essentially allowing Darcy off the hook. Just like the team itself, alot of the media in Buffalo talks tough and then wilts when they have the chance to prove it. Total pansy interviewing. Just like that Wawrow dolt and his Bills stories. Puke.

Darcy is soft and it permeates throughout the entire organization. A weak leader equates to a weak team. $hit flows downhill. Bring in a tough son of a bitch as a G.M. ,an ex hockey player who was a warrior and has won the cup and knows what the word sacrifice means and let him assemble the guys to compliment the few assets we have. I'm sick of being a fan subjected to this weak kneed crap Regier force feeds us.

I've been watching the Florida Panthers rebuild since the new owners took over. Between them and Dale Tallon I can tell you this is going to be one hell of a team in the very near future. Every one of them very professional. The owners are out and about giving interviews wherever they go; Tallon does the same. He came to FL and basically told all the players who were still here at the time, basically if you don't want to play get the hell out. During the offseason they sent letters to everybody who had signed up to receive Emails (I posted a couple on here) updating the fans on the 'state of the union'. The owners and GM make it known to everybody what their intentions are, what the future holds and the direction they are going in. It's a night and day difference between them and the Sabres. As was said in an earlier post, a weak leader equates to a weak team. The Sabres are my team, but as my second team it's interesting to compare the two teams. The Panthers have strong owners who are passionate about the sport, and they have pretty much given Tallon free reign to do as he pleases. The Panthers have a lot of young players and overall don't have a tremendous amount of talent right now, but from watching them play so far this year the effort of the team isn't even on the same level as the Sabres. They've lost 2 games this year because of a mistake by an official that has been addressed by the league. Hell, they've had 50+ shots the last 2 games. It's a real shame the Sabres can have as much talent as we think they do and play so poorly because an owner is too damn cheap and the GM isn't allowed to do anything drastic to help.

I agree Quinn is a ball and chain to this team moving forward but I hold Regier accountable for the overly patient approach that has held this team back. How long do you wait and how many seasons do you give these guys (the core) to prove they are capable?
