Oakstream Posted November 3, 2010 Report Posted November 3, 2010 Got some new lines for this game: Hecht-Roy-Pomminstein Vanek-Connolly-Kaleta Ennis-Niedermeier-Stafford McComrick-Gaustad-Grier Also, Rivet will play. http://www.buffalonews.com/sports/sabres-nhl/article238686.ece
spndnchz Posted November 3, 2010 Report Posted November 3, 2010 Enroth is recalled from Portland. Looks like a good chance of LaLime tonight.

Kaleta with Vanek sounds interesting, the corners should be pretty lively if Patty can pop a couple of d-men and Vanek shoots on sight. i've been pretty happy with McCormick's play, was hoping to see him on a line with Roy maybe, or even Timmy. Boychuk's out for some time, i'm sure Vanek won't miss him. Ellis probably still dreams about him up in Portland. Could we trade in Sekera for him? Hopefully Weber turns into that kind of d-man too (Boychuk, not Sekera), would be a perfect foil for Myers or Butler. Go Sabres!!
rbochan Posted November 3, 2010 Report Posted November 3, 2010 Enroth is recalled from Portland. Looks like a good chance of LaLime tonight. So the Sabres lose by 4 instead of 1.
R_Dudley Posted November 3, 2010 Report Posted November 3, 2010 Okay time to see if anyone on this team remembers the pain of losing to these jamoks last year and at least plays a hard fought give it all you got type of game, not that it will produce a win(aka the @Chicago game) but at least it might be entertaining. Let Go bflo only 53 days left till x-mas.
Eleven Posted November 3, 2010 Report Posted November 3, 2010 I want to see a minimum of three fights initiated by the Sabres if they lose.
wonderbread Posted November 3, 2010 Report Posted November 3, 2010 I want to see a minimum of three fights initiated by the Sabres if they lose. Right. You and i both know what will happen. Down by three in the 3rd come back to make it a 1 goal game and fizzle out in the final seconds. Happens everytime. No aggression no pride. These are your 2010-2011 Buffalo Sabres.

There will be no comeback, we're playing at home. It won't even be a fun game because the B's are playing a very dull, shutdown version of hockey that relies on opponents making mistakes. We make quite a few of those mistakes. Then we go behind and make even more.
Stoner Posted November 3, 2010 Report Posted November 3, 2010 I want to see a minimum of three fights initiated by the Sabres if they lose. In the parking lot? How about scrapping a little when the game is 0-0?
Eleven Posted November 3, 2010 Report Posted November 3, 2010 In the parking lot? How about scrapping a little when the game is 0-0? A fight right off of the opening draw would be great.
Calvin Posted November 3, 2010 Report Posted November 3, 2010 A fight right off of the opening draw would be great. didn't we already have enough issues with the PK when the team decided to be scrappy in the big D?
spndnchz Posted November 3, 2010 Report Posted November 3, 2010 Lindy says Miller is OUT tonight. Not sure if he's going with Enroth or LaLime. 3rd jerseys tonight boys.
darksabre Posted November 3, 2010 Report Posted November 3, 2010 Kaleta is the best thing that could happen to Vanek.
nfreeman Posted November 3, 2010 Report Posted November 3, 2010 I hate to say it, but Miller's absence is highly likely to give these mental midgets the built-in excuse for losing that they've come to rely on.
R_Dudley Posted November 3, 2010 Report Posted November 3, 2010 Kaleta is the best thing that could happen to Vanek. What, we expect Kaleta to run Vanek if he doesn't score ?
SwampD Posted November 3, 2010 Report Posted November 3, 2010 Got some new lines for this game: Hecht-Roy-Pomminstein Vanek-Connolly-Kaleta Ennis-Niedermeier-Stafford McComrick-Gaustad-Grier Also, Rivet will play. http://www.buffalonews.com/sports/sabres-nhl/article238686.ece I have no idea why I like these lines. Maybe it's the idea of Ennis facing the lesser D. Tonight will be a success if we only don't see Vanek make that stupid no-look, backhand pass to no-one. He really needs to start shooting from everywhere. First home win of the season.
inkman Posted November 3, 2010 Report Posted November 3, 2010 I hate just about everything about those lines but they obviously had to do something. Maybe it'll work.
SMIRNOFF Posted November 3, 2010 Report Posted November 3, 2010 didn't we already have enough issues with the PK when the team decided to be scrappy in the big D? Yes, please, for God's sake - stay the FRICK out of the penalty box. These guys are atrocious on the PK.
SwampD Posted November 3, 2010 Report Posted November 3, 2010 I hate just about everything about those lines but they obviously had to do something. Maybe it'll work. I agree.
ROC Sabres Posted November 3, 2010 Report Posted November 3, 2010 What, we expect Kaleta to run Vanek if he doesn't score ? Couldn't hurt.
shrader Posted November 3, 2010 Report Posted November 3, 2010 didn't we already have enough issues with the PK when the team decided to be scrappy in the big D? Maybe someone can look this one up. Did the PK start to flop after Pominville came out of the lineup?
Eleven Posted November 3, 2010 Report Posted November 3, 2010 Maybe someone can look this one up. Did the PK start to flop after Pominville came out of the lineup? Yes, but since Pominville came out of the lineup so early in the season, the sample size for the PK with Pominville is small.
spndnchz Posted November 3, 2010 Report Posted November 3, 2010 Maybe someone can look this one up. Did the PK start to flop after Pominville came out of the lineup? Went from 91% down to 70% after Pommers left.
wonderbread Posted November 3, 2010 Report Posted November 3, 2010 Went from 91% down to 70% after Pommers left. There's your answer. Maybe he's the cure for what ails them.
