Eleven Posted October 28, 2010 Report Posted October 28, 2010 http://www.cnbc.com/id/39850148?slide=10 I'm talkin' proud.
Stoner Posted October 28, 2010 Report Posted October 28, 2010 http://www.cnbc.com/...850148?slide=10 I'm talkin' proud. "The City of Trees." I never heard that one. I do fancy myself a future Buffalonian.
deluca67 Posted October 28, 2010 Report Posted October 28, 2010 "The City of Trees." I never heard that one. I do fancy myself a future Buffalonian. The "City of Trees?" didn't we just lose 30% of the trees in the October storm a few years back?
matter2003 Posted October 28, 2010 Report Posted October 28, 2010 http://www.cnbc.com/id/39850148?slide=10 I'm talkin' proud. We have been getting lots of props from pretty much every sector lately...recently rated by Forbes as one of the top 10 job markets in the country... Hopefully we can reverse the losses of the past 50 years and start gaining people again...I moved back about 5 yeasr ago from Ohio and am happy I did...
inkman Posted October 28, 2010 Report Posted October 28, 2010 "The City of Trees." I never heard that one. Maybe they meant "city of tree".
Stoner Posted October 28, 2010 Report Posted October 28, 2010 Maybe they meant "city of tree". Kalinin?
Eleven Posted October 28, 2010 Author Report Posted October 28, 2010 Kalinin? That definitely was funny. Buffalo has a ton of trees. But yeah, we lost some a few years back.
Onceagain Posted October 28, 2010 Report Posted October 28, 2010 What I thought was hilarious was that lame picture they posted. Welcome to buffalo where our riverefront is a collected of highways and industrial wasteland

notwoz Posted October 28, 2010 Report Posted October 28, 2010 There's a social network called the Buffalo Expat Network, to build a network of and for Buffalo expats who live around the world and leverage the resources of that network to have a positive impact on Buffalo. It's a worthwhile venture. Here's a link if anyone wants to look into it: BEN

Eleven Posted October 28, 2010 Author Report Posted October 28, 2010 No love for Roc city? You haven't bottomed out yet.
UncleWally Posted October 28, 2010 Report Posted October 28, 2010 Within the next 15 years, I will be there. Should I get in the season ticket line now?? (no joke)
Johnnychimpo017 Posted October 29, 2010 Report Posted October 29, 2010 I read this article and got kind of excited, and proud about Buffalo at the same time. I then clicked to see the #1 city and I threw up a little in my mouth. I have been forced to live in Pittsburgh for the last 3 years of my life, and it is the most god-awful place in the world, filled with nothing but ignorant neanderthals.
TheMatrix31 Posted October 29, 2010 Report Posted October 29, 2010 That's pretty cool! Interestingly enough, I've eyed most of that list for years as possible cities to relocate to. I freakin' hate LA, and I've been telling my parents we need to get out for years.

inkman Posted October 29, 2010 Report Posted October 29, 2010 Welcome back, Sabretooth73  Some posters I consider 'must read'. Tooth was always on that list for me.
sabregoats Posted October 29, 2010 Report Posted October 29, 2010 If the state could get itself in order, and get state tax rates competitive, the city of Buffalo would absolutely explode. It is a great place to live and raise a family. The only thing holding the city back at this point is the NYS. As long as Albany is a mess, Buffalo will suffer. The only hope is that some day soon the banks on Wall Street will get tired of exorbitant NYS and NYC taxes and move headquarters across the river to NJ. Wall street is all that is holding the state afloat, if that revenue stream were to disappear, a change in the way Albany runs business may finally happen.
SabresneedaCup Posted October 29, 2010 Report Posted October 29, 2010 its because buffalo be the place to be dawg g homie yeah yo. WORD.

You're right on the tax rates; it's more than that, though. The labor policies are extraordinary. Can't believe what state workers get here. I mean, I can't effing believe it.

nobody Posted October 30, 2010 Report Posted October 30, 2010 No love for Roc city? Trees last longer than lilacs.
nobody Posted October 30, 2010 Report Posted October 30, 2010 The "City of Trees?" didn't we just lose 30% of the trees in the October storm a few years back? A lot of those are still there - they're just sculptures now.
