CallawaySabres Posted October 27, 2010 Report Posted October 27, 2010 Soooooo, the wins have been against Jersey, Ottawa and Atlanta after a West Coast trip - reminds me of how the Bills get their wins. Serious question - when is the last time they won a game where the other team brought their A GAME or B? Exactly
BuffaloFansR_Crazy Posted October 27, 2010 Report Posted October 27, 2010 4 unanswered. They need to step up and score before this period ends or its lights out. If not the flyers will just sit back and play some really boring hockey in the third period and shut this game down.
sabre snipe Posted October 27, 2010 Report Posted October 27, 2010 And there is another minus for Myers. What is going on? Actually myers won't get a minus since it was on the penalty kill, but I almost wish he did so it can better represent how bad he has been. But this team looks awful. Hanging miller out to dry
Iron Crotch Posted October 27, 2010 Report Posted October 27, 2010 It looks to me like the Flyers man-for-man are just better. Our D-men can't handle their forwards.
bunomatic Posted October 27, 2010 Report Posted October 27, 2010 I'm beginning to feel like I'm in an abusive relationship. Last game I got roses, this game they slapped me in the face. I suppose we were due a loss.
Eleven Posted October 27, 2010 Report Posted October 27, 2010 Yeah, Montador and Weber got worked. He may have, but Monty has been the best D tonight. He also saved a goal. Still, this is f*cking depressing.
thesportsbuff Posted October 27, 2010 Report Posted October 27, 2010 is Grier like 0 for 50 on attempted clears this season?
biodork Posted October 27, 2010 Report Posted October 27, 2010 This team really is bipolar... from the early game call it sounded like Adam was a man possessed and it was gonna be a good night, then Philly scores one and it's all downhill. Ugh.
BuffaloFansR_Crazy Posted October 27, 2010 Report Posted October 27, 2010 WOW they just called Rivet for cross checking?!?!?! It just goes to show how smart a hockey player briere is. Biggest mistake this organization ever made was letting him go.
thesportsbuff Posted October 27, 2010 Report Posted October 27, 2010 how can a 35 year old MAN who plays in the NHL repeatedly be unable to shoot a 6oz puck more than 15 ft when trying to clear it?
Stoner Posted October 27, 2010 Report Posted October 27, 2010 Like Briere made any effort at all to stay out of the crease Remember the standard that the league put in place after No Goal is that an attacking player's position in the crease is not the determining factor -- it's whether the goalie has been interfered with.
Punch Posted October 27, 2010 Report Posted October 27, 2010 how can a 35 year old MAN who plays in the NHL repeatedly be unable to shoot a 6oz puck more than 15 ft when trying to clear it? Not discounting the validity of your observation but that's not even in my top 100 issues with this team.
Stoner Posted October 27, 2010 Report Posted October 27, 2010 I hope you're being sarcastic. What about the Boston series? I was referring to regular season ranking. It would be interesting to look back at how Ruff's teams have ranked in the postseason.
thesportsbuff Posted October 27, 2010 Report Posted October 27, 2010 Not discounting the validity of your observation but that's not even in my top 100 issues with this team. Not being able to clear the puck out of our zone is like, Top 5 for me.
BuffaloFansR_Crazy Posted October 27, 2010 Report Posted October 27, 2010 I was referring to regular season ranking. It would be interesting to look back at how Ruff's teams have ranked in the postseason. The post season is all that really matters. But this team is not going to even get there
Stoner Posted October 27, 2010 Report Posted October 27, 2010 O.M.G. Paul Hamilton just suggested the goal with Briere in the crease was allowed to stand because the officials were afraid they wouldn't otherwise get out of the building alive. He wasn't kidding. Lord.
SwampD Posted October 27, 2010 Report Posted October 27, 2010 Once again, finding goals when needed is like taking a dump after eating a block of cheese with this team. I'll cut him some slack because it's his 1st NHL game, but Adam HAS to bury that chance. I don't know how to word this any other way,... CONNOLLY IS WORTHLESS. This team is a hot mess right now. The only reason they looked good at NJ is because they are, too.
thesportsbuff Posted October 27, 2010 Report Posted October 27, 2010 O.M.G. Paul Hamilton just suggested the goal with Briere in the crease was allowed to stand because the officials were afraid they wouldn't otherwise get out of the building alive. He wasn't kidding. Lord. What an idiot. It couldn't possibly be because it was a legitimate goal, could it? No way. Sabres always getting the short end of the stick...
Eleven Posted October 27, 2010 Report Posted October 27, 2010 O.M.G. Paul Hamilton just suggested the goal with Briere in the crease was allowed to stand because the officials were afraid they wouldn't otherwise get out of the building alive. He wasn't kidding. Lord. I would bet dollars to doughnuts that this is complete hyperbole, and that Hamilton said nothing of the sort.
Punch Posted October 27, 2010 Report Posted October 27, 2010 Not being able to clear the puck out of our zone is like, Top 5 for me. Mike Grier is struggling in all facets, but he's not even remotely close to being the main issue. That's my point.
Stoner Posted October 27, 2010 Report Posted October 27, 2010 The post season is all that really matters. But this team is not going to even get there True. You might be onto something. The Sabres penalty killing in the playoffs hasn't been very good since the runs of 98 and 99. Yes! Another strike, totally unexpected in my mind, against Ruff!
BuffaloFansR_Crazy Posted October 27, 2010 Report Posted October 27, 2010 Once again, finding goals when needed is like taking a dump after eating a block of cheese with this team. I'll cut him some slack because it's his 1st NHL game, but Adam HAS to bury that chance. I don't know how to word this any other way,... CONNOLLY IS WORTHLESS. This team is a hot mess right now. The only reason they looked good at NJ is because they are, too. He has been bad before...but this is ridiculous. He is a cancer. I hope he scores a hat trick this period and makes me eat my words. Otherwise try and trade him or pull an Edwards on him and just straight up cut him. I've never seen a hockey player stand around and contribute less than him.
Stoner Posted October 27, 2010 Report Posted October 27, 2010 I would bet dollars to doughnuts that this is complete hyperbole, and that Hamilton said nothing of the sort. What does dollars to doughtnuts mean anyway? So you're stooping to this -- basically calling me a liar? Certainly someone else heard it. I think I got it almost word for word. He said they were afraid to wave off a goal in a 1-1 game in this building, afraid they wouldn't get out of here alive if they did. Eff you.
