Hahaha--- I really don't like him (he's fairly amateurish) but what makes you say that?

I catch him constantly cutting people off. Just dropping calls when he doesn't agree. Mike Schopp and the Bulldog do the same things. Bascially why I've stopped listening to WGR. I do like Jeremy White.

At this point, it doesn't even matter who. It's all about some change. Coaches don't keep their job, in this sports landscape, for 10 years, without winning a championship. Joe Torre got fired from the Yankees but Lindy is still in Buffalo. I never thought I would jump on the "Fire Ruff" bandwagon but I'm am prepared to pull that thing right into the arena and run over everyone with it.

I don't care if this was game 5 or game 55. This team is showing the same problems it has for 4+ years.

We know these guys can put the puck in the net and win. So what happened? This is far worse than I can remember. At least in the past, this team was exciting. Now, I've been fighting the urge to fall asleep.

I'm a Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan in the NFL because of my uncle who lives in St.Petes. They were calling for Gruden's head on a platter for two years before management pulled the trigger. What happened? They went on two losing seasons including a 3-13 showing. Bad team? Maybe but the coach took the fall and they couldn't replace him with anybody better. Although things are looking up there now, it's not because of the head coach.

I find Schopp and the Bulldog tolerable (even enjoyable, really) when they're discussing a positive topic, such as today's pregame--- as soon as things get heated they turn into whiny douchebags. I no longer listen to Koziol's Sabres' postgames much because he sounds like a 3rd rate budget hack prematurely thrust into the job for no other reason than the fact Brad Riter was fired and Nick Mendola jumped ship for WECK.

I do appreciate it when Jeremy and Howard go at it with Sully on Friday mornings--- but rather than their discussions providing any insightful sports commentary they sort of sound like a bunch of hobo clowns fighting over a pair of shoes with intact soles.

Gruden was in Tampa for maybe 4 years, though.

Lindy is one of the longest tenured coaches in all of the major sports, right now. Not just hockey. And by a lot, I believe. And he is yet to win a championship. Has won the division 2 or 3 times. I understand that the money is in Uncle Tom's sock drawer. But we saw a lot of very bad teams in the 90's be exciting and win despite a lack of talent and with a world class goaltender.

We have a world class goal tender and some decent scorers. What is going on here?

Oh. I loved that epic back and forth with Sully that they played over and over all week. That was entertaining.

I hate Bucky, too, though.

Well, Vanek finally showed some jump when he got back on Roy's line.

TC is really the gray cloud right now (was that yours, 11?). He's skating much better than he was in the playoffs last year, so I don't think it's his foot. In any case I'm glad Lindy benched him.

I can't remember the last time I saw Lindy as PO'd as he was in that presser.

On a positive note, I was flipping around DirecTV after that highly unsatisfying game and found a new channel showing reruns of "The Wire," which is one of the 3 or 4 best shows of all time (and some other shows too), in HD -- and the channel is free! If you have DirecTV, check it out -- It's 800 or 801. I may be spending a lot of time there if the Sabres continue to average 1 goal every 7 periods.

Also, the defense wasn't bad, although Myers still isn't adding anything whatsoever to the offense.

I take it you're not a Trailer Park Boys Fan are you? The 101.

I used to watch The 101 all the time for the video game competitions and the hot chicks. And the occasional bit of good music.

TPD Thursdays at 11. worth your hour.

That was me. I still to this day believe that this team will go nowhere as long as Gray Cloud is on it.

I guess I was watching a different game than everyone else last night. I thought it was really exciting and I still have hope for them this year. Montreal is really good and reminds me of the 05-07 Sabres squad.

Vanek looked unbelievable. I don't think I have ever seen him skate the way he did last night. Ever. Roy was great again. Even Stafford looked good.

I still think our problems thus far are a result of new guys figuring it out. They will come together eventually and learn how to score and win.

EDIT:I forgot about Hecht. I think he's been our most consistent and solid forward so far this year.

Hecht: 1 assist, -1 in five games.

Lindy was just emotional. Male menopause will do that. Too much estrogen coursing through his veins.

JHC, I hope for once people will hold his feet to the fire on a vow to bench the slackers.

And? Not bad for being on a team that is 1-3-1. Especially being on the third line for some of it.

Man I usually agree with a lot of your opinions but I do not know what game you were watching. Having Center Ice I switched to a lot of different games last night and saw real hockey. The way that team played the first 2 periods compared to what I saw from other teams last night, playing like that this team is going to finish last in the division and bottom 3 in the east.

So then all you "how dare you question Lindy" fans whats the answer? Can you realistically change the make up of this team now with players and how many real personnel moves can you make ? or Can you change one position to let this team barely playing AHL hockey know it's time you take responsibility.

I personally saw the Penguins do it a couple years back when they brought up Dan Blysma and kicked Therrian to the curb... I like Lindy but sometimes you got to have change for the sake of change and if this team continues to look and play like this it is time.

I have to admit that the game was on but I wasn't really watching it during the first to periods (had company over), but it seemed like when I did dip in, there were some good chances for the Sabres. I did see the whole third though and they looked good in that one.

All this talk and no mention of Cody. McCormick IMO was a beast last night. One of the few fighting in the corners, once getting the puck back 3 times in a row. At times it seemed he was the only one that cared.

Roy, Vanek, Stafford. I can see why Lindy might want to spread the talent out by putting Connolly with Vanek but this just isn't working. In all games it seems he starts with Connolly and vanek and they get down by a few and Roy's back with Vanek. They have chemistry, why break them up? Would you break up Mogilny and laFontaine?

Vanek had great feet and heart last night. He was in position to score and bad passes thwarted his chances.

Speaking of bad passes, can Sekera pass a puck? WTF? Time and time again his passes are 6 feet ahead or behind our player, leading to turnovers.

Again, passes. Twice last night, once with Sekera and once with Gerbe. MAKE THE PASS! Why are they waiting? Do they not see Vanek and Stafford out in front of everyone wide open for the breakaway? Look up, make the pass, be aware of what's going on up ice.

Someone mentioned it before, Ennis turning into Max. He needs to shoot! He's a goal scorer. Shoot for God's sake! Stop trying to make moves past three guys at the blueline and just get it deep.

Goose looked good last night, he and Grier were laying out good hits everywhere.

Had a bad feeling about Connolly from the get-go. Saw him on the jumbotron during the 40th presentation looking very disinterested, like they dragged him there.

Can we mold Butler and Sekera together and make one d-man? Butler with offensive skills and Sekera with defensive skills. Mr Weber, white courtesy phone....

Totally agree about Cody last night. I like his game and that was a lot of ice time for him, especially in the third. As for Connelly, he is a flat out POS. His presence on the team makes me care less how they do and I cannot wait until he is gone (If Queen Larry ever allows Darcy to pull the trigger). His lack of effort is pathetic. Does he even try to hide the fact that he doesn't care?

why does Regier always seem to get a pass on this board? This team is his. This team has Regier written all over it and it shows on the ice. I am at the point 4 games in that I'm starting to believe a new head coach might be in order as well. I think Ruff may be the first to lose a job this season if they continue this spiral to the bottom of the standings but i believe its on Regier. He built this cluster*%#@.

It's because it is less about the players on the ice and more about the culture of this team that has not changed despite all of Ruff's huffing and puffing. We know this team can win and score so we know it is not the players. As such, I think we can cut Darcy some slack.

I don't think anyone is giving DR a free pass, nor should they. Hopefully things will turn around, but right now the

decision not to shake up the "top 6" in the offseason looks like a terrible one.

Actually, it looked terrible months ago. ;)

So of course the second place we walked into last night had the game on. All I saw was part of the first period; the Sabres looked neither good nor bad during that portion. I'll watch the whole thing when I get back home. Not happy about the loss, though.
