This team is loaded with skill, supposedly. This team lacks the kind of grit that we've all seen from the last few cup winners. This is the same team that has been in the top of the league in goals. Kaleta isn't close to that. McCormick cant do it by himself.

 

But tonight's loss is all about not showing up til the 3rd period. And even then it was just Derek Roy who showed up. Who ever thought it would be Derek Roy being the shining star on this team? Vanek has got a bad case of the yips or something. Gerbe is a fringe guy. He is not the answer here.

 

And now, Lindy is blaming this on "complaining to the officials early." But at least he's being honest about this team not showing up til the third and Connolly sitting on his ass.

 

And how is tomorrow's game easy?

 

Lindy is pissed. Too bad he won't do anything real.

Second, Lindy is displaying exactly the mentality of a coach who has no ideas how to motivate his players other than benching them. And that comes back to the players. Who plays at the highest level and needs benching for motivation to win? Absolute garbage from the players on this team and a coach who has nothing left to lose.

Can't say I've ever heard a coach in any sport say something like that. I'm sure his apologists will be along eventually to explain how he's simply trying to motivate his team by telling them they have no chance. Lindy's not that smart.

 

I had to laugh when Lindy explained to John Vogl what he meant by players showing self-pity. As examples, he talked about players complaining about the officiating, getting frustrated over things. Yet there's Lindy barking at the ref in the final moments, and admitting in the presser he was frustrated. You just can't make up stuff this good.

I seriously cant sit here and believe that losing Lydman and Tallinder and adding Morrissonn and Leopold has royally screwed this team over.

I will not put this on Vanek and Roy.

 

I put it on guys like Gaustad, Connolly, Stafford, Hecht, Pominville, Rivet, Kaleta, Darcy, Lindy, Larry, and Uncle Tom.

 

On Kaleta, he got on my nerves again, tonight. I hear the boards smash and then his name and then I hear a rush and a scoring chance the other way. You think he would get the fact that someone is gonna Bertuzzi his ass one of these days while the play is going other way.

The D is slow and unskilled, the Offense is soft and there is some stale management here too.But the owner

No, I really haven't. But I'd have no problem with bringing up Dineen or one of any number of good, young, smart coaches who populate the AHL and other leagues, names you and I don't know.

At this point, it doesn't even matter who. It's all about some change. Coaches don't keep their job, in this sports landscape, for 10 years, without winning a championship. Joe Torre got fired from the Yankees but Lindy is still in Buffalo. I never thought I would jump on the "Fire Ruff" bandwagon but I'm am prepared to pull that thing right into the arena and run over everyone with it.

 

I don't care if this was game 5 or game 55. This team is showing the same problems it has for 4+ years.

 

We know these guys can put the puck in the net and win. So what happened? This is far worse than I can remember. At least in the past, this team was exciting. Now, I've been fighting the urge to fall asleep.
