shrader Posted October 18, 2010 Report Posted October 18, 2010 Harrington reports he was also fined for the leaping charge -- first time in league history a player has been fined for two incidents in one game. Source: Sabres Edge blog on The Buffalo News site If true, another fine moment from the NHL disciplinary department. Fining a guy twice for one game? Yeah, that'll really wake him up. Suspend him.
Stoner Posted October 18, 2010 Report Posted October 18, 2010 OK, I messed up a bit. Harrington's blurb was at the end of the Myers piece. http://www.buffalonews.com/sports/sabres-nhl/article222842.ece "Multiple sources reported Sunday that Sabres forward Patrick Kaleta was fined an undetermined amount but not suspended for an attempted headbutt Wednesday night against New Jersey's Travis Zajac. The New York Post is reporting Kaleta was also fined for leaving his feet on a first-period charging call, which would make him the first player in league history fined for two incidents in the same game. The league has yet to make any official announcements. The maximum fine is $2,500." I couldn't find it on the Post site to link to.

I saw that Harrington thing earlier today, but I can't shake the feeling that it's not true. I've seen articles mentioning the headbutt fine, but this was the only one to mention the 2nd fine. It doesn't make much sense. Like I said earlier, they'd pretty much have to suspend him instead of fining him twice.
deluca67 Posted October 18, 2010 Report Posted October 18, 2010 So you think under a different coach, Vanek would be as good as any of those guys? There is always that possibility! The only thing known for sure is that the Sabres current coach can't.
deluca67 Posted October 18, 2010 Report Posted October 18, 2010 kaleta levied a fine by the NHL for his attempted head butt on Zajac. Why would a player with concussion issues be throwing around headbutts.
OTTOnME Posted October 19, 2010 Report Posted October 19, 2010 Why would a player with concussion issues be throwing around headbutts. Maybe one of his "concussion issues" is an inability to think straight.
shrader Posted October 19, 2010 Report Posted October 19, 2010 Why would a player with concussion issues be throwing around headbutts. Because he's an idiot. He's constantly doing stupid things out there. Unfortunately, that's the same kind of stuff that makes him effective in drawing penalties.
nfreeman Posted October 19, 2010 Report Posted October 19, 2010 There is always that possibility! The only thing known for sure is that the Sabres current coach can't. Actually, the only thing that is known for sure is that Lindy has gotten 40 goals out of him not once but twice.

shrader Posted October 19, 2010 Report Posted October 19, 2010 Kaleta confirms the double fine in today's News. You must be reading these things at the same time I am. Stupid NHL. I'm sure Kaleta really got the message on this one.
