Calvin Posted October 6, 2010 Report Posted October 6, 2010 more cup winning leadership, killer on the pk, gritty forward - hes a better gaustad right. so let's cut Goose and pick up Maltby on a 3-year, 5-mil contract cos Chuck Norris said so.
Chuck Norris Posted October 6, 2010 Author Report Posted October 6, 2010 what has goose shown you in the past few years? hes a lindy ruff pet and he doesnt play to his potential
Chuck Norris Posted October 6, 2010 Author Report Posted October 6, 2010 Maltby is a pk killer, scores pk goals and plays a 3rd line role
Chuck Norris Posted October 6, 2010 Author Report Posted October 6, 2010 touche his stats suck but he is a cup winner and would benefit our younger players
Calvin Posted October 6, 2010 Report Posted October 6, 2010 what has goose shown you in the past few years? hes a lindy ruff pet and he doesnt play to his potential .. and who's the coach of the Sabres right now? do you still need an answer why Maltby is not coming on board in lieu of Goose on Chuck Norris' advice, even though Chuck Norris counted to infinity - twice..
Chuck Norris Posted October 6, 2010 Author Report Posted October 6, 2010 its three times now_ but it would nice to see upgrades over our current guys< i love the goose but hes no where near the best checking line center, this team needs more veterens

Sterling Archer Posted October 6, 2010 Report Posted October 6, 2010 Another suggestion to sign a over-the-hill player that doesn't really fill a serious need.

Eleven Posted October 7, 2010 Report Posted October 7, 2010 When Kirk Maltby goes into the ocean, Kirk doesn't get wet. The water gets Kirked.
carpandean Posted October 7, 2010 Report Posted October 7, 2010 It'll be interesting to see if Goose is even a third line forward. Nieds is a more likely candidate to center that line with Goose centering the fourth.

While not as complacent as "the core", I think he's playing nowhere near his potential. I think playing the 2nd unit on the PP messed up his head, at some point he forgot what he did well, and started thinking he was an offensive player. He's not. His skating has never been anything special, but in the past two seasons it's gone from "below average" to "Craig Rivet". I'm thinking he needs to work on his conditioning again, and remember what he is - A grinder.

Everytime he seems to get going during the regular season, he gets injured. Very frustrating! "Looks like Tarzan, plays like Jane."
