LabattBlue Posted April 28, 2011 Report Posted April 28, 2011 Four Game 7's the last two nights. Three great games, one dud. :(
... Posted April 28, 2011 Report Posted April 28, 2011 Too bad about the Habs, I kind of like Price. I don't like either Pittsburgh or TB, but I'm happier to see Pittsburgh go out in round 1. From what I've seen of these series, it really seems like the Flyers have a shot at a cup this year. A Canuck/Flyer final would be an interesting series.

I still like the Nucks though.
Braedon Posted April 28, 2011 Report Posted April 28, 2011 I think it is wide open in each division. I still like the Nucks though. Vancouver has the offensive firepower to match the Flyers, and the goalie to boot. Though if you would have told me at the beginning of these playoffs that No. 1 would be benched, would have said you're were crazy....

OverPowerYou Posted April 28, 2011 Report Posted April 28, 2011 I'll be happy if anyone but the flyers and red wings makes it. I've had enough of Pissburgh/Philly/Detroit/Chicago types of finals. I like to see new teams.

They're all a little   Maybe now that he's exercised that Chicago demon, he'll be more steady? I didn't catch a few of the later games, so I can't really say with honesty that I know the problem was him or the team in front of him.
OverPowerYou Posted April 28, 2011 Report Posted April 28, 2011 So the Bruins won the series and went 0/33 on the powerplay. *Insert twilight zone music here* I guess it's possible, it can no longer be an excuse.

OverPowerYou Posted April 28, 2011 Report Posted April 28, 2011 Wow. Yeah things are so whacked out In the NHL right now. What's next, a Lightning-Predators finals matchup?
darksabre Posted April 28, 2011 Report Posted April 28, 2011 I'm calling Boston - Detroit for the finals.
Cereal Posted April 28, 2011 Report Posted April 28, 2011 I'm calling Boston - Detroit for the finals. Tough to argue with you on that one. What's Zetterberg's status?
Buffalo Wings Posted April 28, 2011 Report Posted April 28, 2011 Andrew Ference of Boston lays a shoulder into Jeff Halpern when the puck was nowhere near them. Boston didn't get a penalty, Halpern was injured, and the fans were booing him off the ice. Stay classy Boston Ference should've gotten 5 for that, but the refs never saw it. Perhaps those fans that were booing Halpern off the ice are feeling guilty now. Or not.

Jack Edwards has spent the entire series vilifying every single act of all Montreal players. If a Montreal player falls down, it's automatically a dive. Every bit of that series that I've heard, the calling has been absolutely disgusting. No matter how idiotic Edwards is though, these fans can't help but soak in the information provided by their hometown broadcast. Montreal player down=dive=booing

Montreal player down=dive=booing Jack Edwards bombast is so over the top that he's almost a self-parody. Too bad, the guy doesn't have bad pipes.

He is unbelievable. I know RJ gets a little over the top sometimes, but seriously he's not even close to Edwards.
nobody Posted April 28, 2011 Report Posted April 28, 2011 How bloody will the Bruins - Flyers series be? How long before Campbell will be forced to actually suspend someone in that series?
Taro T Posted April 28, 2011 Report Posted April 28, 2011 How bloody will the Bruins - Flyers series be? My wife stated she was having a hard time picking a team to cheer for in that one. I told her I was pulling for whichever one suffered more injuries and would give the Caps/TB an easier series. How long before Campbell will be forced to actually suspend someone in that series? How much Spach would a Spacek chuck if a Spacek could chuck Spach? Though I would never wish injury on anyone, I just can't help but wonder what would happen if Richards gives Campbell a Connolly? Again, not wishing injury on anyone, but I'd love to be a fly on the wall of Collie's office for the discussions w/ him, Bettman, Jacobs, Snyder, and the rest.

One year they will crack down on dives, next hits from behind, the next lateral hits, now high hits to the head. Focus on one and the other three get ignored. It is about managing perceptions more than rules IMO.
Buffalo Wings Posted April 28, 2011 Report Posted April 28, 2011 How bloody will the Bruins - Flyers series be? How long before Campbell will be forced to actually suspend someone in that series? Once Richards or Carcillo or Hartnell does something remotely close (hell, it doesn't even need to be THAT close) to any Bruin, Collie will suspend them before they get to the locker room. It really won't take long.
darksabre Posted April 28, 2011 Report Posted April 28, 2011 Tough to argue with you on that one. What's Zetterberg's status? Apparently he is ready. Hopefully not too soon. Knee injuries are so easy to re-injure even when they feel fine. I know from experience. I just think Detroit is going to keep upping its game all the way to the end.
darksabre Posted April 28, 2011 Report Posted April 28, 2011 The Bruins - Flyers series should be settled with a steel cage cheap-shot match between Chara and Pronger. Whoever comes out alive wins.

X. Benedict Posted April 28, 2011 Report Posted April 28, 2011 I'm rooting for a tie. I hadn't thought of a tie. I was just hoping for mutual carnage.
