X. Benedict Posted April 26, 2011 Report Posted April 26, 2011 I'm all for getting Drury back, as long as it costs next to nothing. I think he gets bought out. He wants a few more seasons. This is what Andrew Gross (wrote about Drury said on cleanout day: - Chris Drury said going into a contract year does not weigh on his mind and it never has. When asked about his diminishing role with the Rangers, he said he’s fine with it and willing to do anything to help the team win. He did say he wanted to play a few more seasons. http://blogs.northjersey.com/blogs/rangerrants/comments/breakup_day_quick_hits/
Cereal Posted April 26, 2011 Report Posted April 26, 2011 I saw on NHL on the Fly, Vancouver GM Mike Gillis whining about the officiating. He had prepared all the numbers and everything to prove his point. I thought it was embarrassing.

I don't think I've ever seen a team that good with such an aura of panic. I think they pull it together...but I wouldn't bet my house on it.

Weave Posted April 26, 2011 Report Posted April 26, 2011 Why is it when other teams complain about the officiating it's whining, but when we complain about the officiating it's all justified?

Weave Posted April 26, 2011 Report Posted April 26, 2011 Are you whining about whining? That's meta-whining. :D :clapping: I thought of it more as a macro-whine.

LGR4GM Posted April 26, 2011 Report Posted April 26, 2011 I'm all for getting Drury back, as long as it costs next to nothing. Drury is dead, done, and freakin' old. First off Drury has another year at 7.5 million which means I would rather go shank myself with a rusty shovel than trade for him. Second Drury has a NTC. So I am agreeing with chz on this one that he is old and done and I want him nowhere near this team. Worst possible trade this summer would be to give up anything for Drury... the guy is a has been sorry people. If I was going to trade I would look at a team like SJ or Van (if they lose) or even Chicago. A team that has center depth and could use some wingers or draft picks... Drury for a 1st or w/e is the most horrible idea ever especially with his stupidly high cap hit. He has had since leaving the buffalo: 58, 56 32,and 5pts in each of his last 4 seasons... for 7.5 million I could take a run at Stamkos almost... terrible terrible idea.

My guess...they let Drury get in shape and train with the team until roster day and then offer to buy him out or ask him to waive his NMC for a demotion to the Whale.
will Posted April 26, 2011 Report Posted April 26, 2011 hoooo boy...get ready for the riots in montreal. whistle denies the habs a goal. thomas clearly did not have the puck covered, but the ref who blew the whistle early was on the other side of the play, and his view of the plainly loose puck was blocked by the goaltender. mayhem ensues.
Bmwolf21 Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 "Intangibles always come into evaluating but you can't let intangibles override other things. We have to make decisions for what's best for the organization moving on." Maybe in the future you don't throw franchise money at a solid two-way player who never really racked up a ton of points and is a smaller guy on the wrong side of 30. Maybe that is "what's best for the organization." Cracks me up to see the Rangers squirming because they spent like drunken sailors on shore leave and now they have buyers remorse. I think most were thinking along the lines of signing Drury to a very low contract if he gets bought out by the Rags. I don't think anyone is seriously contemplating trading anything for him or paying him $7M+ to be a 3rd-line center and PK'er.
Iron Crotch Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 This Hawks - Canucks game 7 is awfully exciting to watch. This is everything playoff hockey should be!
OverPowerYou Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 This Hawks - Canucks game 7 is awfully exciting to watch. This is everything playoff hockey should be! Except that there's only 1 goal. Other than that, this game has had everything. Exciting game!
BuffaloFansR_Crazy Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 HHHHaaaaaaawwwwwksssss!!! JT!!!!!!
Iron Crotch Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 Burrows with the OT winner for the Canucks. What a game! Nashville next up for the Canucks...
rickshaw Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 I saw on NHL on the Fly, Vancouver GM Mike Gillis whining about the officiating. He had prepared all the numbers and everything to prove his point. I thought it was embarrassing. Great move by the G.M. He had everyone talking about his rant instead of Luongo or the Sedins. And in game 7 the officiating was outstanding. I'd say it worked. They're on to round 2.

I totally agree.........Mike Gillis was just doing some hockey 101 mixed with Sun Tsu's Art of War....all warfare is based on deception. He got the focus off of the struggling players. The media ate that crap up.
Buffalo Wings Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 Go Canucks Go! I'm happy to see a Canadian team move on. I'd be ok with it if Montreal wins tonight (love watching the atmosphere at the Bell Centre for those games), even though the Bruins were my pick out of the East.
Assquatch Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 It's going to cost me a 12 pack of beer if the Habs don't win. I bet a Boston guy at work the Sabres would make it farther than the Bruins, measured by the number of wins. I lost a 12 pack to him last year, and the best I can do this year is push :(

X. Benedict Posted April 28, 2011 Report Posted April 28, 2011 Watching Montreal - Boston 2-2 Price and Thomas are the best players on their respective teams by half.
