Iron Crotch Posted April 24, 2011 Report Posted April 24, 2011 The guy playing ours sucks though. Vancouver's rocks. ... did you just say he sucks at the organ? :)
Iron Crotch Posted April 24, 2011 Report Posted April 24, 2011 That's awesome! Did you tell them you're a Sabres fan? Or give Ryan props on his goal? Were they all pissed off over the tough loss last night? It just felt surreal since I stayed up late to watch the Ducks - Preds game the night before, then watched NHL network in the morning... then to see the guys you just watched on TV come walking into your sleepy little gym was pretty cool. Marchant and I chatted a little bit about being Sabres fans (we went to the same elementary school). Ryan said "hello" to me (being that I was the only non-Duck using the gym), but I didn't ask him about the goal. I probably should have. I didn't want to get in to way too much since their trainer (Sean Skahan) was telling them what to do... but it didn't seem like too many guys were listening to him; mostly they just did some cardio, screwed around with some of the non-traditional training stuff that my gym has like flipping tractor tires and shaking the heavy ropes, then watched the end of the Caps-Rangers game on the gym TV. They got a kick out of Avery getting into it after the late Rangers goal. I overheard Skahan chatting with Bobby Ryan about what he should do on his off-season training routine. Ryan seemed to be half listening. In general, the guys seemed really loose and were joking around quite a bit. I also didn't notice anyone who appeared to be very beat up (ala Jordan Leopold). I though Teemu seemed as serious and focused as any of them. He was working out a lot harder than the other guys, which is probably why he's still freakishly productive on the ice at age 40!

eball Posted April 24, 2011 Report Posted April 24, 2011 The Habs have got to feel snakebitten. The dumb luck save off Chara's leg, and then the ridiculous save by Thomas on the 2-on-1. Fun OTs to watch, though. I really don't care who wins, since they'll be playing the other half of Pittsburgh/Tampa in the next round if Buffalo can take care of business against Philly.
darksabre Posted April 24, 2011 Report Posted April 24, 2011 ... did you just say he sucks at the organ? :) I was going to say this, but I thought I'd get flamed. I'm just relieved I'm not the only one who thinks so.
deluca67 Posted April 25, 2011 Report Posted April 25, 2011 With the Ducks eliminated it is possible Teemu Selanne has played his last game in the NHL. I hope he returns for a couple of more seasons and takes a run at 700 goals.

Iron Crotch Posted April 25, 2011 Report Posted April 25, 2011 Big win for the Blackhawks in OT to force a Game 7. Ben Smith (rookie out of Boston College) with the winner.
nobody Posted April 25, 2011 Report Posted April 25, 2011 Hawks baby! Going to game 7. By the way - did anyone notice that $10 mil Luongo didn't start?
rickshaw Posted April 25, 2011 Report Posted April 25, 2011 Canucks were clearly the better team tonight. Tough loss to take, but if they play like that on Tuesday night, at home, they should take it. Love to know how that wasn't a blind side hit to the head of Bieksa in OT. Can't wait to hear what Bunomatic has to say about that hit. To me, on first look, arm was coming up and it was to the head. To me, that was a worse hit than the Torres hit.

rickshaw Posted April 25, 2011 Report Posted April 25, 2011 Vs commentators were saying he left his feet as well He did, and the ref was right there. Tough not to get that call. Great game but the Canucks should take game 7 if they play like that. They were dominating for many parts. Two bad giveaways by Schneider and a penalty shot. Schneids was great except for his two gaffs though. And Luongo had no chance on the winner so he should be feeling good again come game 7. But man, the weight of the whole province of BC will be on the Canucks. You think the pressure is on the Sabres from their fans? The Canucks fans and this whole province are pressure extraordinaire.

We are the underdog lower seed in the series. 4 months ago we would've been happy to be in the top 10 of the playoff picture.

That hit was a carbon copy of the Torres hit in that it was a headshot and that was judged by the league to be a good hit in a hitting zone. Thats why the players are still making that hit. The league allows it. Thats why the announcers never made an issue of it. Nothing to see. For myself I thought both hits were bad simply because they were head shots. nobody has to agree with me but thats my opinion.

However, they played pretty well last night and with the home crowd behind them, I think they should take Game 7. The Sabres have nothing to lose. Nobody expected them to get to Game 7, anyway.
Eleven Posted April 26, 2011 Report Posted April 26, 2011 So the Bruins and Habs are on their second two-day break of their series? How is that fair to the rest of the league?
Eleven Posted April 26, 2011 Report Posted April 26, 2011 Best Penalty Shot Ever! That was no Frolik. (I know, the Frolik is cursed.)
LabattBlue Posted April 26, 2011 Report Posted April 26, 2011 Ryan Malone with a "Vanek Slapper" on a breakaway for Tampa's 4th goal.
carpandean Posted April 26, 2011 Report Posted April 26, 2011 I don't know about that. Thornton gets four minutes for having his stick, which he was holding with one hand, lifted by one Kings player into the face of another Kings player whose head was down at waist level. Sure, he lost a tooth, but it's hard to fault Joe there.

spndnchz Posted April 26, 2011 Author Report Posted April 26, 2011 I'm all for getting Drury back, as long as it costs next to nothing. Drury is dead, done, and freakin' old.
Taro T Posted April 26, 2011 Report Posted April 26, 2011 I'm all for getting Drury back, as long as it costs next to nothing. I don't think he's got a whole lot left in the tank, but if they could get him at a 3rd line center price, I'd be fine w/ him as the #3 center, Brad Richards as #1, and Roy at #2. Goose centers the 4th and Hecht or Adam could center a line when somebody's out injured.
