Buffalo Wings Posted April 23, 2011 Report Posted April 23, 2011 Is Pittsburgh's announcer calling the game on Versus? I've never heard such little enthusiasm for goals. EDIT: On the fifth goal, the guy sounded like he was reading the evening news. I don't think this is a Versus broadcast - they're just picking up the feed from Fox Sports Pittsburgh.

X. Benedict Posted April 23, 2011 Report Posted April 23, 2011 For the Cup favorites, I'd say after Vancouver, Detroit, and Pittsburgh, it is wide open. Pens getting spanked in Game 5 and maybe TB can at least send it to seven games. I guess Tampa wasn't ready to golf yet.
DR HOLLIDAY Posted April 23, 2011 Report Posted April 23, 2011 I am watching Rangers and Caps on TSN, but it is the NBC HD feed and it sucks.......
sabres1970 Posted April 23, 2011 Report Posted April 23, 2011 So (if we do advance) we have Washington. Thoughts?
Ghost of Dwight Drane Posted April 23, 2011 Report Posted April 23, 2011 So (if we do advance) we have Washington. Thoughts? Bring it! I love it. NY was outgunned. Callahan is the heart of that team and wasn't there. The series could have been a bit different with him in there. If Buffalo has found it's nads, they will be able to outgrit Wash.
Iron Crotch Posted April 23, 2011 Report Posted April 23, 2011 How about Teemu Selanne? The guy is closing in on 41 years old and still doesn't look like he's lost a step. 5 goals in 5 games and a number of great plays last night. I just had an out-of-body experience... this is a true story: I went to my gym this afternoon (goPerformance), which is in the basement of a semi-empty building close to downtown Nashville (few blocks from the Bridgestone Arena). Normally, there will be only one or two people there during the day on a weekend... today I was literally the only one there. Did my normal lifting and such... Then the door opens and about 25 athletic looking dudes come walking in... IT WAS THE ANAHEIM DUCKS! Holy Crap. I'm not normally a big "jock sniffer" but I was pretty awestruck standing there next to Teemu Selanne as he did his leg exercises (got to tell him IN PERSON what I posted above). Said "hello" to Bobby Ryan, saw Getzlaf, Perry, Jason Blake. George Parros is the meanest looking hockey player I've ever seen. He's huge, as is Andy Sutton. Chatted with Todd Marchant a bit. I was trying to figure out who the black players was, then I realized it was Ray Emery! Seems like a likable guy. I didn't notice Tony Lydman there (nursing an injury?). Anyway, I figured I would post it here since it is hockey related and it was a bit surreal! :D

In come about 3 dozen dudes all about the same size. It didn't take long for us to realize it was the Pens. I was surprised to see them on a commercial flight. They were all dressed in black/dark clothes and were all nicked up.
wjag Posted April 23, 2011 Report Posted April 23, 2011 Ryder just robbed a Hab. No score yet. Pretty good action in this one.

wjag Posted April 24, 2011 Report Posted April 24, 2011 Just heard on Vs. Score the first goal and win. 31 of 37 games so far or 83%.

Were they all pissed off over the tough loss last night?

Eleven Posted April 24, 2011 Report Posted April 24, 2011 No more Intangible this year. In other news, DeLuca and PA are inconsolable that they can't bitch anymore this year about Darcy's failure to re-sign him.

The coolest hockey jock incident that happened to me occurred while buying movie tickets at the Galleria for stocking stuffers at Xmas last year. I looked behind me and Malkin was in line with Fedotenko and Gonchar. They had an off day between Philly and us. Went up at got his John Hancock, as he is one of my favs. Best part was no one in the immediate vicinity knew who the hell they were. I also waited on a bunch of Sabres while working TGI Fridays around 2001. Ruff was in with his family, really cool guy even when I brought him the wrong soup. Satan is weird, he and his wife order an item on the menu and the 86 everything off it an create something new. Heinz was cool. Rico always at our bar smoking cigars, I got sad thinking about those times when I first heard of his passing.
Weave Posted April 24, 2011 Report Posted April 24, 2011 I sat right behind Grant Fuhr once on the way home from a business trip. This was near the end of his Sabres stint and he was rehabbing a knee injury. Ended up sitting in 1st class with two celebrities that ride home. I was on a business trip to Camarillo, CA, flew out of LAX. While waiting for my flight home there was a bit of a commotion and I saw a crowd coming up the hallway. The crowd ended up walking up to my gate. I could see through the people that Cindy Crawford boarded my flight. The crowd turned out to be her security staff. This was back when she was still modeling and had her MTV gig. We were called to board after she was on. Day-umm but she is one tall glass of water. And looks every bit as good in person. Our layover was in Detroit. Grant Fuhr boarded with the rest of the 1st clas passengers. He sat right in front of me. I didn't bother him during the flight. I did wish him well with his knee injury recovery as we were leaving the plane. He's a bigger guy than I expected. Then again, he did have a history of being out of shape when he wasn't playing. Other than that, I've chatted with Rob Ray twice at sportsman shows during his playing days. He's a suprisingly personable guy given his big fish in a small pond status.
darksabre Posted April 24, 2011 Report Posted April 24, 2011 No one wants to win this Bruins - Habs game. Brutal.
... Posted April 24, 2011 Report Posted April 24, 2011 And we're going to double OT. I gave up after the first OT. Good game, though. I never knew what Montreal fans saw in PK until I had a good chance to watch what he does this game. I hate Boston, so go Habs!
Dkaye179 Posted April 24, 2011 Report Posted April 24, 2011 Anyone else see a little bit of Brian Gionta in Gerbe? Can't help but think it watching this Habs-Bruins game. Obviously the similar stature, but the guy is all over the ice getting after loose pucks, in on rushes and is more than willing to offer up a hit. Hopefully Gerbe can get a cup like Gionta too.

They say if you want to network...learn how to golf. I say BS. The coolest stories and craziest info I have gotten is from being a frequent flyer....and smoking.
OverPowerYou Posted April 24, 2011 Report Posted April 24, 2011 This is a bit random, but I love San Jose's organ. Kinda cool. lol Our's is way better though.
