They shouldn't have too much trouble trading to get a 3rd round pick back if they need it.

But I mostly think it is Burke's bluster (as you said) :) .....he is the best off-season sound bite the league has.

A 3rd round pick should be easy to get. That particular pick could be a little pricier as it would be very apparent as to why the Loafs wanted the pick back. (But it still shouldn't be hugely expensive.)

[Edit: I see SDS beat me to it.]

erratum:

3rd round original pick

X. Benedict regrets the error. :)

We'd be much more familiar with this process if the RFA offer sheets were a better deal for clubs and more common.

A really nice bonus about this site is the hockey knowledge you are able to pick up reading all the posts. While I personally didn't learn anything in this case since I knew the picks have to be the teams original picks - there are many cases where you are able to pick up little details. So  to all!

I pictured her looking more like this (I wish I could photoshop some Sabres posters on the walls and maybe a logo tat).

I hate the Penguins, but it is about time an American crowd did what the Pens fans did tonight - about a 1/3 of the way through the anthem the singer turned it over to the fans. I think Edmonton first did this a few years ago in the Finals and it gave me the chills, it was so cool to see...

They did that in the first game too. Same military guy sang the song. Looks well rehearsed IMHO..

Rehearsed or not, I am all for it! I always thought what they did in Chicago was cool, but kinda weird that they are also cheering over the guy while he sings.

Ugh! That is so disgusting. Unfortunately, I've seen a few truckers who are just as morbidly obese. There is absolutely no excuse for someone to get that obscenely corpulent.

Are you his toilet? Why else would you care?

I am going to google the bible quote where it says "the thin shall inherit the earth" while I eat some pizza.

Well, I care because my healthcare premiums are going to go up because Johnny Neckroll has never heard of a salad.

Really? Do you know what he spends on healthcare? You did say "healthcare premiums" right? Which mean others pay for your healthcare when you need to use it? That is how the insurance works right?

Premium - Agreed upon fees paid for coverage of medical benefits for a defined benefit period. Premiums can be paid by employers, unions, employees, or shared by both the insured individual and the plan sponsor.

Which means others pay if you get seriously hurt or sick?

I can't believe that I am actually replying to this vitriol, given that the thread is already going away from talking about the rest of the league.

1, Yes, I do care. Believe it or not, it breaks my heart to see people self-destruct like this. You would not believe the number of people I saw with this guy's condition when I worked in the restaurant business many years ago. I haven't watched this movie, but given what that guy did to prove a point, it should be easy to figure out that unhealthy diets such as this lead to early deaths. Granted, not everyone that has Jack Lalanne's diet lives to be 96, but they stand a greater chance than eating fast food all the time.

2, knock yourself out. I'm not stopping you.

and, for #3, I guess it's no surprise that the Blueshirts are down 2-0 against the Caps <_<
