carpandean Posted April 9, 2011 Report Posted April 9, 2011 If Pittsburgh and Philly both have 104 points now, how can the Pens be listed as #2 seed when Philly has 5 more Reg/OT wins? Flyers listed as #2 on NHL.com, now. They were messed up there for a little bit, as they had the Hurricanes with 91 points and 80GP (not 81GP.)
Eleven Posted April 9, 2011 Report Posted April 9, 2011 Who do we want in round 1, Prongerless Philly or Crosbyless Pittsburgh? Gimme Philly with or without that a-hole any day.
wjag Posted April 9, 2011 Report Posted April 9, 2011 Watching NFL on the Fly they showed that Neal hurt his hand last night. They might have lost another player. Blysma has him day-to-day.
wjag Posted April 9, 2011 Report Posted April 9, 2011 Bryan Murray re-upped for 3 years in Ottawa. I'm surprised...
Weave Posted April 9, 2011 Report Posted April 9, 2011 I'm all for policing the contact to the head and I've made that pretty obvious over the last couple years, but I have no clue what Torres was supposed to do on this one. Even Gerbe would have landed a shot to the head on this specific play. Yeah. This one is a puzzle to me. Torres has to finish that check. That's his job. This decision furthers the idea that stars and skill players get different treatment during disciplinary hearings.

I think Philly is going to be a damned tough team for us to match up with, but if we are gonna end up facing them..... bring on the injuries !!
wjag Posted April 9, 2011 Report Posted April 9, 2011 So Carolina will know their fate tonight. If Rangers win, they must beat Lightning. If Rangers lose this afternoon, they can even rest Cam Ward.
Eleven Posted April 9, 2011 Report Posted April 9, 2011 I am rooting for the Rags this afternoon just to keep it interesting.
Eleven Posted April 9, 2011 Report Posted April 9, 2011 Adam Foote announced his retirement. What a solid career he's had.
X. Benedict Posted April 9, 2011 Report Posted April 9, 2011 Adam Foote announced his retirement. What a solid career he's had. Always hated him. He was good. I never thought he'd be much good after 2006, but he was a warrior and stuck around 5 more years just out of plain meanness.
frissonic Posted April 9, 2011 Report Posted April 9, 2011 I am rooting for the Rags this afternoon just to keep it interesting. i'm torn on this one. it would indeed be interesting, but carolina just can't lose. if they get in and they play washington, i wouldn't be surprised if washington's out again in the first round. against the rangers ... i don't see that happening. caps would probably win in 5 or 6. that could bode well for us down the stretch, assuming we get out of the first round.

There is absolutely no way that Washington wants to play Carolina right now. Even though Washington nearly swept the season series with the Hurricanes. That was a different team. I actually think Maurice is a much better coach than Boudreau too.
X. Benedict Posted April 9, 2011 Report Posted April 9, 2011 Drury on the ice - scores. Rangers on the brink down 2-1.

I guess there's two schools of thought. I think most ppl would agree (especially with the Callahan injury) that the Canes are better than the Rags. So I guess one thought would be to cheer for the Rags to get in because the Canes appear to be a dangerous team. The other thought is to hope the Canes get in and knock off a favourite or two. The earliest we'd meet the Canes would be the conference finals. Either way it's nice not stressing for the next four or five days!
X. Benedict Posted April 9, 2011 Report Posted April 9, 2011 I still can't believe Drury is on the ice. God I love hockey. Devils 2 - Rangers 2
X. Benedict Posted April 9, 2011 Report Posted April 9, 2011 Pretty Rangers goal to take the lead.. Wow. MSG is rocking.
wjag Posted April 9, 2011 Report Posted April 9, 2011 Wow. MSG is rocking. I love the Ranger's goal song. Buffalo needs something like that.
X. Benedict Posted April 9, 2011 Report Posted April 9, 2011 I love the Ranger's goal song. Buffalo needs something like that. 4-2 It hate hearing it, so it is probably pretty cool for Ranger fans. BTW: Tallinder has played every other shift.

Dude Posted April 9, 2011 Report Posted April 9, 2011 So if this score holds up, the pressure is ALL on the Canes. Win and you're in. Lose and you're done.

The Sabres couldn't play either the Canes or the Rags in the 2nd round, so we're talking conference finals if at all. So, I'm going for the Canes so they have a shot at the first round upset. The scenario I'd like the most is Sabres, Habs, Canes beat the division winners (just like last year) and Sabres-Habs in round 2. Who's with me?
