Most of the time I think the suspensions are too light.

That sounds too heavy to me.

That's why I warn...when you call for a witch hunt, this is what happens.

I agree with Torres that the league needs to figure out where it wants to be in a few years. Defunct is an option slowly gaining momentum.

this was worth two games

Eberle is caught leaning and it is worth four?

Wow.

Except the league has shown no interest in participating in that witch hunt. They constantly suspend on the low end and then all of a sudden this one happens.

I don't recall the On the Fly crew calling out for suspensions for Chara and Bertuzzi. The On the Fly broadcast that night was all over suspending Torres. I wonder if those guys had already gotten an inclination from the league office that the suspension was coming.

Again, watching the hit on replay, I didn't think it should be a suspension. Watching it at full speed for the 1st time, I thought it looked bad and understood why the ref called it the way he did. I didn't think that the league would throw the book at him after they could see the hit from multiple angles, etc. I didn't think that hit, nor Bertuzzi's hit, should have garnered a suspension though I understood why both got the in game penalties that they received - the hits 'looked bad' in real time.

I agree with everything you said except it's 3 teams fighting for two spots. The Rags should be scared. I heard in the game last night that the Canes have the tie breaker over them. Their magic number is 3, not 1. Although I'd rather be playing Atlanta and NJ then Philly and columbus.

Correct - my bad.

The irony of Friday is that by beating Philly we will most assuredly secure 7th place for the Sabres and unfortunately 2nd for Pittsburgh which is the one team I don't want to face.

No kidding. Not that I think Pittsburgh is the best team, I just think that is the worst match-up for Buffalo.

I've been worrying about this for about two weeks now.

Pittsburgh just plays way too physical for Buffalo

My sentiments exactly.

They won't be blow outs, but I was really hoping someone else would get Pit. My preference in order would be Philly, Bruins, Washington, Pit.

Awesome. Now, if Atlanta goes up by 3, we all should start preparing for 8th place.

Got your wish. 3-0 Atlanta

Been watching this game, Habs couldn't score on a 5minute power play right after Ottawa scored.

Good.. :worthy:
