CallawaySabres Posted April 7, 2011 Report Posted April 7, 2011 I agree with everything you said except it's 3 teams fighting for two spots. The Rags should be scared. I heard in the game last night that the Canes have the tie breaker over them. Their magic number is 3, not 1. Although I'd rather be playing Atlanta and NJ then Philly and columbus. NJ would love NOTHING more than keeping the Rangers out of the playoffs and I do not think that will be an easy one for NY - that will be NJ's playoff run in one game.....
spndnchz Posted April 7, 2011 Author Report Posted April 7, 2011 WTH? http://video.nhl.com/videocenter/console?catid=49&id=104306 That's just soooo wrong.
R_Dudley Posted April 7, 2011 Report Posted April 7, 2011 I get the Carolina hate but I don't understand all the hand wringing about them making it in. I always feel the best eight teams should make it in and then may the best man(er team) win. I also like the idea of beating the teams that may have been your biggest antagonist to make the victory even more worthwhile when you do achieve it. Carolina played a great game yesterday against Detroit and they needed it more and I think that showed. I want the Sabres to earn the right to be there not make it based on someone elses failings but that's just me.

I just hope this doesn't become the rage in goal celebrations. I can see going from  to  in the time it takes to say you had me at goal.

Right now my preferences is rags and us make playoffs. 2 reason main on e we are in and second those fruking canes arent
rickshaw Posted April 7, 2011 Report Posted April 7, 2011 Oh that game against Nashville a few weeks ago. Keeping us all stressed until it's official that we're in or out.
Stoner Posted April 7, 2011 Report Posted April 7, 2011 Just when I thought I've seen it all. I just hope this doesn't become the rage in goal celebrations. I can see going from  to  in the time it takes to say you had me at goal. That was the late 90s. All men were kissing each other back then.
spndnchz Posted April 7, 2011 Author Report Posted April 7, 2011 That was the late 90s. All men were kissing each other back then. Vogl: "There's a story there somewhere".
tom webster Posted April 7, 2011 Report Posted April 7, 2011 I will remind people that technically the NYR not the buffalo sabres sit in 8th so if any team is going to get eliminated its gonna be the NYR. Besides after the alumni thing friday this team should be so pumped that they destroy the flyers and Carolina just has to lose 1 of the last two. We will play hard and remember "winning is not a goal it's a belief" Maybe you mispoke, but if Buffalo destroys Philly, it doesn't matter what Carolina does. In fact, just getting into overtime and getting a point means Carolina can't touch them unless Columbus beats Buffalo by over 21 goals Saturday.
tom webster Posted April 7, 2011 Report Posted April 7, 2011 One other thing. Has it ever happened before were the 9th place was eliminated while the 10th place team still has a chance, as is currently teh case out West?
Foligno's Nose Posted April 7, 2011 Report Posted April 7, 2011 Given the jerseys they were wearing then...I guess it was inevitable. That Gorton's fisherman guy did end up OK as the "most interesting man in the world", and the Dos Equis beer ad gig.
R_Dudley Posted April 7, 2011 Report Posted April 7, 2011 That was the late 90s. All men were kissing each other back then. You promised you would never tell  I feel so violated :bag:
Stoner Posted April 7, 2011 Report Posted April 7, 2011 You promised you would never tell  I feel so violated :bag: :worthy: And... Rhett used to kiss Dom's helmet after wins.
carpandean Posted April 7, 2011 Report Posted April 7, 2011 One other thing. Has it ever happened before were the 9th place was eliminated while the 10th place team still has a chance, as is currently teh case out West? Probably, but what you really have is a case where the 9th/10th place teams can't be definitively ordered. Those two extra games played are worth 0-4 points, so the 2 banked points are not enough to say that Calgary > Dallas. If they ranked on point %, then Dallas would be 9th and Calgary would be 10th, making their current status make more sense.
will Posted April 7, 2011 Report Posted April 7, 2011 Carolina won't win out and we won't lose out. woah...turning over a new leaf?
PlayoffReadyMatt Posted April 7, 2011 Report Posted April 7, 2011 We are 7 -2-1 in our last 10. I feel like we can earn ONE point.
thesportsbuff Posted April 7, 2011 Report Posted April 7, 2011 We are 7 -2-1 in our last 10. I feel like we can earn ONE point. False... we are 7-1-2 in our last 10
spndnchz Posted April 7, 2011 Author Report Posted April 7, 2011 4 games for Torres. That's crazy, but necessary I guess.
wjag Posted April 7, 2011 Report Posted April 7, 2011 But Bertuzzi got nothing. Hahaha. Bertuzzi plays for one of the original six.
X. Benedict Posted April 7, 2011 Report Posted April 7, 2011 4 games for Torres. Most of the time I think the suspensions are too light. That sounds too heavy to me.
spndnchz Posted April 7, 2011 Author Report Posted April 7, 2011 Most of the time I think the suspensions are too light. That sounds too heavy to me. He doesn't play for the Bruins.
shrader Posted April 7, 2011 Report Posted April 7, 2011 I can't wait to see their reasoning for that one. It's a head scratcher.
X. Benedict Posted April 7, 2011 Report Posted April 7, 2011 He doesn't play for the Bruins. not Raffi Campbell ;)
