Derrico Posted March 18, 2011 Report Posted March 18, 2011 Toronto loses to Florida 4-0 New Jersey loses to Ottawa 3-1 Stars aligned for us for a change. Least for tonight. Ya serious. I saw who the opponents were and barely checked the scores, assuming the Leafs and Devils would win. Very nice....
OverPowerYou Posted March 18, 2011 Report Posted March 18, 2011 The Islanders owe us a HUGE favor tomorrow. Here's a small message to those Isles of NY: Dear Tavares and Co., please WHACK THOSE CANIACS! Sincerely, Sabres Fans
carpandean Posted March 18, 2011 Report Posted March 18, 2011 While I'm hoping that they lose, it will be nice to see the Devils in green and red again when they play tonight (in honor of St. Patty's day.)
spndnchz Posted March 18, 2011 Author Report Posted March 18, 2011 To recap previous posts. We need: Islanders to beat Hurricanes Canadiens to beat Rangers Caps to beat Devils all games at 7PM.
Stoner Posted March 18, 2011 Report Posted March 18, 2011 Holy cow, how greedy are some of you people? Sabres have been getting help for months. It's the reason they're in this thing. At some point, they have to grab hold of this thing. They're leaving too many points on the table.

Carolina is 10-12-4 last 26 games. Bit of both IMHO.
Assquatch Posted March 18, 2011 Report Posted March 18, 2011 Interesting. No one team in the Eastern Conf has won (or lost) more than two in a row. (Pittsburgh and Rangers) I have read this five times and still do not understand it. Is it me?

Assquatch Posted March 18, 2011 Report Posted March 18, 2011 http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/standings/ Oh their current streak. Thanks for typing it slower for me the second time.
wjag Posted March 19, 2011 Report Posted March 19, 2011 Man NYR are POUNDING the Habs. 5-1 after 1. I turned it off and switched to the hated Canes vs Isles.
SabresMojo Posted March 19, 2011 Report Posted March 19, 2011 Canes won in OT and Montreal looks to be short of a comeback right now.
Foligno's Nose Posted March 19, 2011 Report Posted March 19, 2011 Rat bastard Hurricanes. They were toast with under five to go. We still have two games in hand.
Derrico Posted March 19, 2011 Report Posted March 19, 2011 Canes won in OT and Montreal looks to be short of a comeback right now. True, atleast the Devils lost. Looks like they're pretty much done now. With the leafs loss yesterday they're in big trouble. If we can beat Atlanta tomorrow night then it's a true three team race for two playoff spots.

spndnchz Posted March 19, 2011 Author Report Posted March 19, 2011 Yup Basically 50/50 if they go 9-2.
deluca67 Posted March 19, 2011 Report Posted March 19, 2011 Basically 50/50 if they go 9-2. So, you say there's a chance.
Dave Dryden Posted March 19, 2011 Report Posted March 19, 2011 Basically 50/50 if they go 9-2. 88 points? I'd say 60/40 against. But they won't go 9-2, so it's academic.
Dave Dryden Posted March 19, 2011 Report Posted March 19, 2011 So, you say there's a chance. Hahahahahahaha!
OverPowerYou Posted March 19, 2011 Report Posted March 19, 2011 Can someone please explain to me how we have the tie-breaker over Carolina. Are we currently in 8th place since we have played fewer games than them? By the end of the season if we both have 92 points and are tied for 8th with them, how is the tie-breaker determined? I was just wondering.

I was just wondering. Right now, it is because we have played 2 fewer games. First tie breaker at end of season is non-shootout wins.
OverPowerYou Posted March 19, 2011 Report Posted March 19, 2011 Right now, it is because we have played 2 fewer games. First tie breaker at end of season is non-shootout wins. And if we're tied for non-shootout wins? (right now we both have 29, lets say we don't win any more shootouts, what is the 2nd tie-breaker?)
SabresMojo Posted March 19, 2011 Report Posted March 19, 2011 # 2. The greater number of games won (not including games won in a shootout). # 3. The greater number of points earned in games between the tied clubs. If two clubs are tied, and have not played an equal number of home games against each other, points earned in the first game played in the city that had the extra game shall not be included. If more than two clubs are tied, the higher percentage of available points earned in games among those clubs, and not including any "odd" games, shall be used to determine the standing. # 4. Goal differential.
