Eleven Posted March 13, 2011 Report Posted March 13, 2011 I don't get the consistent dissing of Crosby by fans, especially SabreSpace fans. Here is a guy that plays all out on EVERY shift, every play. Yet crap like this persists. This guy is the complete hockey player, goal scorer, clutch, tenacious, etc and yet folks continue to dog him like he is a soft player. He whines if he gets breathed upon. That gets tiresome. The first 2 years of his career he was a total cry baby. Don't take it personally bro, I was just kidding around. Jeez. I don't see you sticking up for Connolly when people call him a pu$$y... lol I haven't seen too many people call Connolly that. I can't stand the guy on this team, but that's not why. He'll mix it up once in a while, and in fact he did so last night. His problem is not ever taking that "extra step" to make sure a play is made. He usually does poorly on faceoffs. Especially in the neutral zone or in the offensive zone, he'll let a puck go rather than hustle, or sometimes, even just extend is stick, for it. He's "out on the town" (and not in a Ryan Miller "hey, I'll have half of an entree and half of a beer" sort of way. In eight seasons with Buffalo (not counting lockout), he has shown me very little, and you can't pin all of that on injuries. (And frankly, lately, he's been playing pretty damned well. He's not going to Stafford me into changing my mind, though. Frankly, I think a lot of the improvement is because he's taking Roy's ice time.)
Samson's Flow Posted March 13, 2011 Report Posted March 13, 2011 Maybe the Crosby parents were actually trying to convince his sister to quit hockey for good -- common mistake since they both have vaginas. The first 2 years of his career he was a total cry baby. Don't take it personally bro, I was just kidding around. Jeez. I don't see you sticking up for Connolly when people call him a pu$$y... lol and the zingers keep coming! way to shoot from the hip sportsbuff
bunomatic Posted March 13, 2011 Report Posted March 13, 2011 Agreed. I know a lot of fans who resent the fact that the NHL likes to pretend he is the only star in the league. Personally I think he is a great player, arguably the best in the game, but I hate him. Honestly, my dislike for him is based purely on jealousy, the fact that he plays for the pens and not my team, and that he scored the golden goal on Miller. He is kind of like Tom Brady, I know he is great, but as a Bills fan I hate him for always crushing my team. I agree with this because I felt the same about the great one when he was in Edmonton. I didn't really learn to appreciate him till he had moved to L.A. I suppose I was too busy hating to really sit back and enjoy the over the top talent of the guy.

spndnchz Posted March 14, 2011 Author Report Posted March 14, 2011 Crosby back on the ice in Pitt. Just skating with full gear to see how it goes.
Stoner Posted March 14, 2011 Report Posted March 14, 2011 Crosby back on the ice in Pitt. Just skating with full gear to see how it goes. Am I bad person for feeling a bit disappointed in this news? Or just bad because I admit to it?
Weave Posted March 14, 2011 Report Posted March 14, 2011 Am I bad person for feeling a bit disappointed in this news? Or just bad because I admit to it? Well, we can add them both to the list. :D
thesportsbuff Posted March 14, 2011 Report Posted March 14, 2011 It pisses me off that anytime someone from Detroit, or Washington, or Pittsburgh, or Toronto, or a couple other places scores a badass highlight reel goal, that ###### is on youtube in 1080p HD within hours after it happening. Tyler Ennis scored two beautiful goals yesterday and neither is anywhere to be found except in the generic standard def highlight compilation from NHL.com's account. I mean, go look yourself, you'll NEVER find a individual goal highlight from the Sabres this year... I guess our fans just aren't as internet savvy as other places?

biodork Posted March 14, 2011 Report Posted March 14, 2011 Concussions: New rules for treating NHL players Bettman should learn not to talk so much... every quote just solidifies the impression that the guy is an idiot.
biodork Posted March 14, 2011 Report Posted March 14, 2011 Crosby back on the ice in Pitt. Just skating with full gear to see how it goes. My link Sounds like the retirement talk was just rumor (or perhaps wishful thinking on someone's part).

I have no problem with anything quoted in that article. Yes, he's downplaying the headhunting, but he's right that there is more to it than that.
will Posted March 14, 2011 Report Posted March 14, 2011 Tyler Ennis scored two beautiful goals yesterday and neither is anywhere to be found... i can't see games, so all i can watch are the nhl.com highlights...but that first ennis tally was certainly not worth the effort of youbing. as for the second, that really was impressive, roofing it so effortlessly. i've never seen anyone pop the top on a water bottle like that. sploosh.

Except, just to prove me wrong :D , somebody uploaded a vid of Vanek's goal in the Ottawa game... but other than that you really will find very few individual sabres highlights. i'd really love to get a vid of that ennis shot so i can show my friends without making them sit through a 5 minute highlight reel of both teams goals.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bpYltnRs10U is that really worthy of it's own video? i've seen goose and vanek do the same thing five times a piece over their careers, but there's no "Vanek NAAAAASTTTYYYYY Goal" videos on there.
will Posted March 14, 2011 Report Posted March 14, 2011 blue buttons on the right side...you can watch individual goal highlights. but i know what you mean, i wasn't nitpicking. that bottle pop alone was worth being on yoube for the reason i mentioned. knuble's ot winner...meh. it did show some pretty amazing patience, though. saw it live, and was impressed, but certainly not so much so that i have to find it online to see it over and over.
spndnchz Posted March 14, 2011 Author Report Posted March 14, 2011 Philadelphia Flyers defenceman Chris Pronger will undergo surgery on Tuesday to repair a fracture in his right hand. Pronger is expected to return in three to four weeks. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=358020

K-9 Posted March 15, 2011 Report Posted March 15, 2011 Am I bad person for feeling a bit disappointed in this news? Or just bad because I admit to it? That depends on why you feel a bit disappointed. Are you disappointed because you don't want Crosby to risk further injury? Or are you disappointed because one of the top players in the league might be closer to playing and potentially making things more difficult for the Sabres when they play the Pens? GO SABRES!!!
PromoTheRobot Posted March 15, 2011 Report Posted March 15, 2011 Leafs drop a steamer against the Bolts, losing 6-2. So much for their heroic win against the Sabres. Maybe they can all talk about it on the golf course. PTR
BuffaloFansR_Crazy Posted March 15, 2011 Report Posted March 15, 2011 Toews scores his 30th and Hossa gets 2 in one period as Chicago scores 5 in the 2nd period and jump form 7th to 4th in the West.

That conference is crazy this season. Chicago could be back on the outside looking in by this Friday or in second by next Friday.
BuffaloFansR_Crazy Posted March 15, 2011 Report Posted March 15, 2011 That conference is crazy this season. Chicago could be back on the outside looking in by this Friday or in second by next Friday. Sure is. The parody in the NHL the past 3 season is really unbelievable. I know its not fair to compare but the Sabres would be in 12th place in the West. This also doesn't seem like NHL news and feels like it belongs in another thread :)

Parody-parity It kind of fits in Buttmans world.
deluca67 Posted March 16, 2011 Report Posted March 16, 2011 Devils win again. 6 pts out with a game in hand. They may hit .500 before the Sabres do.
