I think they'd throw in an additional game if he joined al qaeda prior to the beheading.

And a $1000 dolla fine if he posts it to youtube. The N.H.L. doesn't want to be dragged through the mud.

The Devils are now 19-2-2

Kovy with another game winner.

Sorry, gotta say it - "There's just no place for a 50 goal scorer on the Sabres."

24th goal of the year was his 10th game winner for a team dead last in goals for. No room for Kovi. No room for a young kid about to score 30 goals for the third straight season all before his 24th birthday.

I wonder what he'll do next for the 11 gamer?

"During high school, I played junior hockey and still hold two league records: most time spent in the penalty box; and I was the only guy to ever take off his skate and try to stab somebody."

Atlanta up 3-1 over Florida with about 10 min. to go in that game.

Edit: Florida tied it up!

Edit 2: Atlanta wins in OT. At least the Leafs lost.

The Devils are now 29-31-4 and will not make the playoffs. Kovalchuk has 46 points, admittedly in a defensive-minded system, but is MINUS EIGHTEEN in the same defensive-minded system. For that money, I'll say no every freaking time.

Apparently, there's just no place for a 50 goal scorer on the Devils, either.

But you and DeLuthor or whatever he is calling himself these days are welcome to commiserate somewhere together and wonder how much worse this year would be had the Sabres signed Ilya.

EDIT: And BTW, DeLuca, you might want to check up on his age. He's not before his 24th birthday, not by a long shot.

I'm pretty sure that's a reference to Phil Kessel.

That's a whole lotta words to simply say "There's just no place for a 50 goal scorer on the Sabres." ;)

A tale of two coaches. You have to give the Devils credit for getting 40 of their last 46 available points. That's an incredible pace and it doesn't appear to be slowing down. I hope you're right, but I'm not so quick to decree that they won't make the playoffs.

If I may add, their next six games are against the Islanders, Sens and Thrashers. There should be no shock if they take 12 of 12 points over that stretch. Kovi has only been a minus player once in the last 15 games and 3 times over the last 24. He leads the league with 4 OT goals and 9 GW goals. Over the second half of this season he has been the most clutch player in the league. Jacques Lemaire has really reached Kovi and has him playing maybe the best overall hockey of his career. Amazing what a mid-season coaching change can do.

The kid has his entire career ahead of him. He would have looked really in blue and gold.

I agree with that. But Toronto paid a really heavy price. Tyler Seguin would look really good in blue and gold, too. I'm not sure Boston would have made that deal with Buffalo. Maybe so.

NYR 2 Flyers 0...5 minutes left in 1st

The only good news is that the big knock on the Rangers is that they can't finish games. With our luck, this will be one that they can.

Avery just kicked one in and didn't get away with it. Does that guy even try to do things legitimately?

I liked him shaking his head afterwards.. Clear, kicking motion.
