thesportsbuff Posted February 17, 2011 Report Posted February 17, 2011 Brian Burke was just on NHL Live talking about trades, he mentioned how there are some GM's in the league who you "just can't make a deal with." Then he brought up Darcy Regier -- first he referenced the Dominic Moore deal an then continued to say something along the lines of "We're very good friends and we kind of joke about it, why can't we make a deal with each other? I've made other deals and Darcy has made other deals, but we can never make a deal together."

darksabre Posted February 17, 2011 Report Posted February 17, 2011 Halak for St. Louis just put on IR to miss Sabre game. http://tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=354286 You know what THAT means right?
Eleven Posted February 17, 2011 Report Posted February 17, 2011 You know what THAT means right? St. Louis is going with Conklin for the rest of the season while Halak starts for Buffalo against Washington?
darksabre Posted February 17, 2011 Report Posted February 17, 2011 St. Louis is going with Conklin for the rest of the season while Halak starts for Buffalo against Washington?
Stoner Posted February 17, 2011 Report Posted February 17, 2011 You know what THAT means right? Can we get something out of the way right now? No one better say the Sabres should beat the Blues.
darksabre Posted February 17, 2011 Report Posted February 17, 2011 Sabres better hope Conk-Block doesn't bring his A-Game again.
Eleven Posted February 17, 2011 Report Posted February 17, 2011  Hypothetical trade with the promise that the trade target doesn't play for either team on Friday.
darksabre Posted February 18, 2011 Report Posted February 18, 2011 Hypothetical trade with the promise that the trade target doesn't play for either team on Friday. I was wondering where you were going with that haha
LGR4GM Posted February 19, 2011 Report Posted February 19, 2011 hmm the rangers lost last night but carolina won and o yea every team in our division except us has done something what the f :censored: Regier? I could be a better gm then you. You let wisniewski go for 2,5 rnd pick to montreal even though are defense's average age is 20ish. They can not even drink in this country... this is what it is like to be a sabres fan - :wallbash:
deluca67 Posted February 20, 2011 Report Posted February 20, 2011 Devils up 2-0 over Canes. I get a feeling that the Devils may be the story of the year in the NHL developing right before our very eyes.
thesportsbuff Posted February 20, 2011 Report Posted February 20, 2011 Devils up 2-0 over Canes. I get a feeling that the Devils may be the story of the year in the NHL developing right before our very eyes. 3-0 now  But they're still too far back to make playoffs, if that's what you're implying.
Lanny Posted February 20, 2011 Report Posted February 20, 2011 3-0 now  But they're still too far back to make playoffs, if that's what you're implying. not really, if they continue their pace. Esp since there has been a distinct difference since they changed coaches.
deluca67 Posted February 20, 2011 Report Posted February 20, 2011 3-0 now  But they're still too far back to make playoffs, if that's what you're implying. They will be 6 pts back of the Sabres and are on tear not seen since the '79-80 Flyers (probably not, but it sounds cool). They are far from being out of it.
deluca67 Posted February 20, 2011 Report Posted February 20, 2011 not really, if they continue their pace. Esp since there has been a distinct difference since they changed coaches. That's cray talk. Everyone knows that a coaching change could never possibly help a team in the middle of a season.
thesportsbuff Posted February 20, 2011 Report Posted February 20, 2011 not really, if they continue their pace. Esp since there has been a distinct difference since they changed coaches. Key word "if" they continue their pace. They won't. That's unheard of. We thought the Sabres' hot streak (until NYI game) was impressive -- the Devil's is even more impressive and they'd have literally DOUBLE their current streak to qualify. They will be 6 pts back of the Sabres and are on tear not seen since the '79-80 Flyers (probably not, but it sounds cool). They are far from being out of it. 6 points back minimum, 12 points back potential. Well I'll go ahead and make it 10 points back potential since we know Buffalo won't beat Washington tomorrow.

That is 10 points potential back. The Sabres have Washington and Detroit on this home stand. Considering that the Devils are doing this with a backup goaltender, it is very possible they will catch the Sabres.

We don't know they won't, but I'll agree it's not likely, but also not likely was their start to the season.
Stoner Posted February 20, 2011 Report Posted February 20, 2011 That's cray talk. Everyone knows that a coaching change could never possibly help a team in the middle of a season. Also, it's crazy! Take Lindy. If the Sabres fire him now, 1. He'd have a job the next morning. and 2. Who's out there who could do a better job than Lindy does? Nuts!

Who's out there who could do a better job than Lindy does? Nuts! Another crazy notion I heard is that teams can win a Stanley Cup while changing coaches in the middle of the season. I'm sure that has never happened.

And those aren't necessarily synonymous.

I am just pointing out how the Devils were left for dead because they signed Kovi and here the Devils are possibly about to pull off a historic comeback.

deluca67 Posted February 20, 2011 Report Posted February 20, 2011 lol okay Is there any other story that could possibly be bigger, league wide, if the Devils make it to the playoffs? They will have to name their season DVD "Bat Out Of Hell."
