1-1 rangers v thrashers at the mid way point. Go Atlanta, but no matter what, please end in regulation.

rangers up 2-1, like you said, I don't really care who wins, just that it doesn't go to OT.

If you guys thought Montreal/Boston was a battle, you guys NEED to check out Islanders vs. Pens. Incredible old school stuff.

God I love Hockey.

The homer Pens PBP guys are a riot.

Brent Johnson is the Steve Shields of the Pittsburgh Penguins. I never thought I'd be a fan of a Pens player, but this guy is a riot.

Dear Brent Johnson,

I respect you. Even if you play for a team that I hate with unwavering passion.

Regards,

This guy right here.

One left on the bench; it's just like beer league!

with MTL-BOS and NYI-PIT, is the refs' losing control of games an upcoming trend? The new breed of players, with hair-trigger tempers, no respect for each other, who obviously don't care about blind sucker punching, slamming each other from behind, into goalposts, even shooting at each other...will they create anarchy? It looks like the streets of Cairo out there. Calling Commissar Bettman.

Out with the era of the superheavyweight goon. Back in with team toughness and lots of guys who can deal with their own ######.

We are gonna need Kassian and Foligno soon because it looks like we are already playing catch up with this latest trend (see Boston, Philly, P-burgh, and it looks like the Isles can handle themselves nicely too).

When I first looked at this post I thought "Who is the guy with the huge head?" then I realized it was a ad on the dasher.

That's hilarious. I did the same thing.

Speaking of ads on the boards, think Pegula will get rid of them? I'd love to see it.

I think the league would frown on the idea. It is a revenue stream.

Couple observations - first, interesting hearing RJ pronounce 52's name as "rivet" and not "Ree-Vay";

I'm late to the party I know but it sounded like RJ was calling him Ribbit. Pretty funny for a guy on Montreal.

Contemplating who can police the Sabres. (looks like McCormick right now) Looked at the all time penalty list and our very own Rob Ray is at #6 with 3207 PIMS. No one active will catch him soon. Tiger Williams is #1 with 3990 followed by a surprising Dale Hunter then Tie Domi:

According to Ruff, that is the case.

Former Sabres tough guy Andrew Peters officially announced his retirement Friday. The 30-year-old decided to take a job outside hockey rather than play in the minors for Vancouver.

Ruff appreciated the enforcer role Peters played from 2003-09.

“Andrew did a good job for us, very popular guy inside the room,” Ruff said. “When asked to fulfill his role, he did a tremendous job for us. At the same time, you need guys that can provide coverage for your players.

“I think what Cody (McCormick) is doing this year is no different than what Andrew has done,” he said. “Andrew maybe did it in a smaller fashion when it comes to playing time but (he was) equally as important.”
