cringe

I cringed at the replay of Myers colliding with Malkin. This one looks alot worse.

What is it about Vancouver and defenseman injuries?

think they'd be interested in a trade now.. say Rivet and/or Butler and/or Morrisonn?

Suprisingly, Buffalo's powerplay has managed to work it's way up to 10th best in the league.

I still like carp's idea for adjusting the power play conversion rate by deducting shorthanded goals allowed.

It shows up on the plus/minus.

Leopold and Sekera are both prone to getting caught flat on point. (Which Brad Marchant seems to have picked up on).

That was a terrible looking injury. Salo's due back in about a week so they'll have cap space.

How that isn't a penalty I'll never know. I'd suspend him for that play. Totally uncalled for.

I see Phaneuf got off without a suspension for his blindside hit to Pomminstein's chin the other night.

Pomminstein seems to have a target on him this year.

I wonder how the scouting reports read that guys are going out of their way for him.

He was out for quite awhile with a concussion this season. I am sure all of the league hitmen are well aware of it.

LOL check out this story-

PITTSBURGH -- A Pittsburgh Penguins fan got quite a surprise from Mike Rupp before a recent game at Consol Energy Center.

During warmups, Rupp crashed into the boards, causing John Kraynak to spill his beer.

Rupp, knowing arena beer isn’t cheap, had a trainer go to the locker room and grab $10 from his wallet and a hockey puck.

Kraynak told Channel 11 News that Rupp wrote an apology on the puck, signed it, taped the money to the back and tossed it to him.

Clearly Rupp is a drinker.

Yes, I know that this is redundant since he is a hockey player.

That is the best $10.00 Rupp ever spent. He could never pay for all the good will he bought by doing that. Players should be encouraged by ownership to do things like that (on ownership's dime). It's little things like that that tie fans to players and franchises for life, and causes them to raise their children to be fans as well.

What I want to know is if this guy was actually holding the beer or if he's one of those idiots that rests it on the edge of the boards. If he's the latter, he deserves to lose that beer.

Regardless, my point stands - but expect to see a whole row of half empty beers on the ledge the next game!

And wouldn't he be a bigger idiot if he was sitting next to the glass and a player running into the glass scared him so much he dropped his beer?

Re: the Volchenkov elbow -- when someone like Mike Emrick utters the word "suspension" within seconds, how much more likely does it make the suspension?

Meanwhile, a hit like the one on Pommers that was very much out of the way has zero chance of earning a suspension.

I wish there was more transparency and consistency and credibility in this process.

per TSN: Anaheim acquires defenseman Francois Beauchemin from the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for forward Joffrey Lupul, defenseman Jake Gardiner and a conditional 2013 fourth round draft pick.

Time to start the trade thread already?
