Tampa wins with only 23 shots.

Washington better win the first in Tampa.

If they don't, my view of Washington as the most overrated team in hockey will be further solidified.

And friggen Dwyane Roloson. Gotta love that guy.

Didn't Roloson play for us for a little while? I can't remember if it was him or not. It might've been back in 98/99?

He's been great. 41 years old and playing like a stud.

Nice line change Cappies!! Brutal.

I'm waiting for him to run out of gas in these playoffs. But in the mean time, I am 100% behind his hobo beard.

Maybe Dom Hasek makes a comeback next season?

Isn't Roloson 6-0 in game 7's or some freakish stat? Thought I'd heard that recently.

Don't know about game 7's, but he's never lost an elimination game, that may be the one you're referring to?

Pissed off Caps fan caught on camera flipping the bird to Vinny as he jumped into the glass after scoring the GWG.

I just saw that on NHLN.

I'm astonished by the Caps-Tampa results so far. Makes me regret even more Easter Sunday. I thought the Capitals were primed for a let down too. Too bad Buffalo let them off the hook.

Me too. TB is peaking at just the right time, along with having a hot goalie. Although they are extremely talented, I never expected this.

Mike Schopp brought this up during the regular season in regards to Tampa. Look at what they have accomplished during the tenure of the Staus Quo. They were at the very bottom of the league, built a Stanley Cup Champion, returned to the bottom and have recently passed the Sabres as Stanley Cup contenders.

Wasn't it Roloson that led the Oilers to the Finals in 2006. If he didn't get hurt who knows how that series would have ended.

Not to mention who they snagged for a GM.

Pretty good game in Philly.

Philly gets early goal and another and then give up that 2-0 lead with two Boston goals 1:20 apart.

JVR is putting on an absolute clinic this post season... he was the best player in the BUF/PHI series and has been by far the best player on the ice tonight for Philly (didn't see much of Game 1). I mentioned it in another thread earlier but my post was deleted, but isn't it a little bit ironic that in a playoff season where we hopefully saw the last gasp of Buffalo depending on the Vanek/Connolly/Pominville/Stafford core, we may very well have witnessed the blossoming of another star, on the other side of the ice? As much as it stings me to say it, JVR has been fun to watch. Probably the best player in the playoffs by any team so far.

To be fair, you have to acknowledge that Stamkos, Lecavlier, and St. Louis were already in place in Tampa. It isn't like Yzerman joined that organization and had absolutely nothing to work with.

For sure, he hired a new head coach, and made some other smart but conservative moves and the team is obviously better for it, but it isn't like he turned around the Islanders or Florida here.

Wouldn't it be interesting to see a Tampa Bay vs. Detroit Finals matchup? Not only would it make for exciting hockey, but Yzerman would have a shot to beat his old team.

As much as it hurts me to say this I feel Briere was the best player in the Philly/Buffalo series. JVR is a rising star and has been great so far this post season.

I love when Briere beats up on players twice his size like Chara. Why did we ever get rid of him?

I won't dispute that.. I mean, Briere scored every big goal when Philly needed a big goal. He was clearly the "MVP" of the series. But I think JVR was perhaps the most dangerous skater overall on the ice... he had 40+ shots on goal that series, though I don't remember how many goals. This might be a terrible comparison but he was kind of like our Gerbe from the regular season -- he wasn't necessarily scoring and racking up points, but he was making things happen and heavily involved in cycles and the forecheck.
