TheMatrix31 Posted October 1, 2010 Report Posted October 1, 2010 Vanek was really grimacing after he was taken to the ice as he scored. TSN said he was shaken up and wouldn't return. Hope it's just a day-to-day thing. Wouldnt be hockey season without it :-/
nfreeman Posted October 1, 2010 Author Report Posted October 1, 2010 A few game notes: 1. Weber looked better than in the first couple of games. I think Butler is still ahead in the competition for the #6 slot on D though. 2. Gerbe is going to play a lot this year, if not make the top 12 right away. He's ready. He also adds quite a bit on the PP, which looked great last night. 3. Pominville looks even more useless than he did last spring. 4. Enroth looked pretty good. 5. TC looks like he'll have a good contract year. 6. Myers looks like a Norris contender. 7. Vanek injured again. Lovely.
spndnchz Posted October 1, 2010 Report Posted October 1, 2010 is there a video recap anywhere? On TSN.ca

CallawaySabres Posted October 1, 2010 Report Posted October 1, 2010 why no mention of Vanek's injury anywhere in the articles - hopefully it's minor.
spndnchz Posted October 1, 2010 Report Posted October 1, 2010 The whole game is online on TSN http://watch.tsn.ca/nhl-games-on-demand/pre-season-sabres-vs-canadiens/#clip355136
nfreeman Posted October 1, 2010 Author Report Posted October 1, 2010 I like your earnestitude -- yes, that's a word -- but it is preseason, ya know. Not according to Webster's.

Stoner Posted October 1, 2010 Report Posted October 1, 2010 Not according to Webster's. I was just being a smartass. I really didn't think it was a word. But then I googled it for S&G and it showed up. People are using it, hence, it's a word.

shrader Posted October 1, 2010 Report Posted October 1, 2010 I have no idea what's going on right now.
Stoner Posted October 1, 2010 Report Posted October 1, 2010 Is "ain't" a word? No, it ain't. This is how the empire crumbles. The language evolves. It's dynamic. Chill out -- get crunk -- eat some chocolate pudding with a spork. It'll be OK.

nobody Posted October 1, 2010 Report Posted October 1, 2010 Had a neck stinger, back on the ice for practice today. All good. Hanging out with Kaleta?
nobody Posted October 1, 2010 Report Posted October 1, 2010 Gerbe really makes the powerplay work. Shifty little bastard! He's gotta make this team. So how long until Lindy puts him in front of the crease?
carpandean Posted October 1, 2010 Report Posted October 1, 2010 So how long until Lindy puts him in front of the crease? Not long ... We will have to come up with a clever name for that jump, though.
NNYSABRESMAN Posted October 1, 2010 Report Posted October 1, 2010 I know it's a contract year but I thought TC looked a little faster and he threw a couple of good shoulder checks contesting for the puck. Maybe he's getting past his concussion mind set and will have a real good year. :clapping:
ThePebble19 Posted October 1, 2010 Report Posted October 1, 2010 Not long ... We will have to come up with a clever name for that jump, though. How about the Gleap? Kind of a Gerbe - Glee - Leap combo.
shrader Posted October 1, 2010 Report Posted October 1, 2010 I love the 2nd picture. Gerbe's in mid-air, the goalie (Backstrom or Harding?) is on his knees, yet Gerbe is still just slightly above the goalie's head.
korab rules Posted October 1, 2010 Report Posted October 1, 2010 I hate to "3rd man in" here Tallinder? Is that you?
X. Benedict Posted October 1, 2010 Report Posted October 1, 2010 A few game notes: 1. Weber looked better than in the first couple of games. I think Butler is still ahead in the competition for the #6 slot on D though. I'm not seeing a scenario where Weber is any higher than a #7 on the depth chart.
nobody Posted October 1, 2010 Report Posted October 1, 2010 I'm man enough to say it: Connolly's goal was a nice shot.
