spndnchz Posted September 28, 2010 Report Posted September 28, 2010 Should see mostly regulars in this one. Games is on MSG tonight. In my listings is on the non-HD channel.
nobody Posted September 28, 2010 Report Posted September 28, 2010 Who gets to be the home team? Should be the Sabres but Country might override distance.
nfreeman Posted September 28, 2010 Report Posted September 28, 2010 NHL Network is also showing the game live at 7. I'd like to see the Niedermayer-Ennis-Kassian line again.
bunomatic Posted September 28, 2010 Report Posted September 28, 2010 Ennis is expected to miss a couple of days with family matters.
spndnchz Posted September 28, 2010 Author Report Posted September 28, 2010 Erin Pollina (the web girl at Sabres.com) is doing a blog all day from Hockeyville. http://sabres.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=538795&cmpid=rss-pollina
spndnchz Posted September 28, 2010 Author Report Posted September 28, 2010 It's reported that Miller will play the whole game tonight. Seeing what kind of shape he's in I suppose.
rbochan Posted September 28, 2010 Report Posted September 28, 2010 Pre-season or not, just beat these ######!
Eleven Posted September 28, 2010 Report Posted September 28, 2010 If Kassian knocks Neil's head off, he's on the team, AFAIC. But it has to be knocked completely off: Nearly-Headless Neil will not do.

That's where all the fighting takes place at youth hockey rinks anyway.

But it has to be knocked completely off: Nearly-Headless Neil will not do. It should be interesting to see whether Kassian targets Neil. We joke about it, but I'm sure Kassian knows that Ottawa owned the Sabres last year and that Neil is the big bully on their team. Kassian also really wants to make the team and knows he didn't have much of a game last night. It's quite likely that Kassian is determined to come out with a very physical game tonight and quite possible that he's got Neil in mind.

No doubt. But in the preseason? He has nothing to gain. My guess is he laughs, tells him to go back to juniors and skates away.
Patty16 Posted September 28, 2010 Report Posted September 28, 2010 i dont think kassian makes this team by dropping the gloves. He needs to show some scoring touch with a physical aspect, not that he can go toe to toe in a fight.
korab rules Posted September 28, 2010 Report Posted September 28, 2010 I think he needs to be responsible and positionally sound at both ends of the ice more than anything else. . LR and DR would have sent Perreault back to juniors to work on his defensive game.

Derrico Posted September 28, 2010 Report Posted September 28, 2010 The game will be shown live on TSN tonight for all you Sabres fans north of the border..
inkman Posted September 28, 2010 Report Posted September 28, 2010 Haha. well played. i agree. I guess my point is that this team needs to offensive punch, not more grinders. Matt Ellis is a grinder, Kassian has the potential to be a ###### monster.
Patty16 Posted September 28, 2010 Report Posted September 28, 2010 Matt Ellis is a grinder, Kassian has the potential to be a ###### monster. in terms of nastiness yes. But his scoring in juniors isnt really a superstar in the making.
korab rules Posted September 28, 2010 Report Posted September 28, 2010 in terms of nastiness yes. But his scoring in juniors isnt really a superstar in the making. If he could stay off the suspended list his production would be substantially increased.
Patty16 Posted September 28, 2010 Report Posted September 28, 2010 If he could stay off the suspended list his production would be substantially increased. his appox 1pt per game in the OHL isnt really impressive, suspension or not. In 08-09 he played a full season and was 50th in scoring. Even in his suspension shortened last season there were many more guys scoring more in less games than he played. Like i said, hes not projected to be a scorer in the NHL, hes a physical kid who will pop in a few goals occasionally.
