bills_fan_in_raleigh Posted September 7, 2010 Report Posted September 7, 2010 Good news is a Buffalo Brothers has just opened close to the RBC center. BB has hosted the road crew last year and will be nice to have a Sabres friendly bar near RBC center for those raping and ransacking trips.

shrader Posted September 7, 2010 Report Posted September 7, 2010 Don't forget the baby eating!! You're my hero.
FogBat Posted September 7, 2010 Report Posted September 7, 2010 You better serve up some Sahlen, Labatt Blue, Beef on Weck, and Weber's Mustard!
deluca67 Posted September 8, 2010 Report Posted September 8, 2010 You better serve up some Sahlen, Labatt Blue, Beef on Weck, and Weber's Mustard! Shouldn't Buffalo have it's own beer?
Overeducated Homer Posted September 8, 2010 Report Posted September 8, 2010 Shouldn't Buffalo have it's own beer? Well, Labatt's USA is based in Buffalo... It's not Koch's, but it will have to do.
Two or less Posted September 8, 2010 Report Posted September 8, 2010 Been to Buffalo Brothers while in Carolina for the Sabres playoff series vs. the Canes. Great place, great people, great time. I've been dying to go back!
Taro T Posted September 8, 2010 Report Posted September 8, 2010 Shouldn't Buffalo have it's own beer? Iroquois. Unfortunately that brewery's been gone for 40+ years. The Buffalo Brew Pub's products have been in stores before as well. Those were what was drunk on my trip to SB XXVII.

Taro T Posted September 8, 2010 Report Posted September 8, 2010 I hope you had enough to forget the game. If only ... :censored: [Edit]I probably should have had some tonight as well. I meant XXVI (don't remember what I drank at XXVII, but do remember I had a LOT of it and it STILL sucked).
SwampD Posted September 8, 2010 Report Posted September 8, 2010 Shouldn't Buffalo have it's own beer? Genny?
FogBat Posted September 8, 2010 Report Posted September 8, 2010 Shouldn't Buffalo have it's own beer? Start your own, you closet capitalist!
Sabre Dance Posted September 8, 2010 Report Posted September 8, 2010 Genny? Genesee beer is brewed in (gulp!) Rochester. I think Flying Bison is the Buffalo brew you might be looking for. (Yes, they are local, but I think they are looking to expand their product availability...)

Them shipping it off to Buffalo is like the English giving blankets to the natives.
Claude_Verret Posted September 8, 2010 Report Posted September 8, 2010 This will be an interesting place to go before Sabres-Canes games. Bring your combat gear. Fans here are STILL very thin skinned about that 2006 series that they won. Flying Bison is the only current stand alone brewery in Buffalo. Brewmaster Tim Herzog is a good friend of mine. Support your local brewery! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=19pXT0RD3ek
bills_fan_in_raleigh Posted September 8, 2010 Author Report Posted September 8, 2010 Well, Labatt's USA is based in Buffalo... It's not Koch's, but it will have to do. Koch's now that was good beer but that was a dunkirk brewery
Cereal Posted September 8, 2010 Report Posted September 8, 2010 But does anyone in Rochester actually drink it? Them shipping it off to Buffalo is like the English giving blankets to the natives. Funny thing... a restaurant here in Blacksburg, VA has a happy hour "Luck of the draw", where you pay $1 for a 'random' beer. Usually they'll rotate a bunch of crappy beers in, but on some nights, half of the 'draws' will be something decent like Saranac or Leinenkugel. Anyway, earlier this summer, lo and behold, cans of Genny Light! So random, but I had to drink with pride. They continued to serve $1 Genny Light cans for the entire summer. 'Twas so very very random.
spndnchz Posted September 9, 2010 Report Posted September 9, 2010 Start your own, you closet capitalist! OK. http://www.buffalone...ticle184877.ece
Claude_Verret Posted September 9, 2010 Report Posted September 9, 2010 OK. http://www.buffalone...ticle184877.ece Interesting. I first read about the nanobrewery concept a few years ago. The concept has been gaining a lot of popularity among the homebrewing and beer snob community. I have even looked into trying something myself since equipment wise it wouldn't involve much more cost than doubling my current homebrewing capacity, however after a lot of research I concluded it would be very difficult to make any money doing this no matter how great my product is. At best I could just hope to break even while getting some brand name recognition with the public to eventually open a microbrewery down the line, and doing that involves some serious coin. Also, the fees and red tape here in NC looked pretty daunting, I can only imagine how much worse it must be in NY. I hope these guys do well though, anyone that can chip away at the macrobrewers is ok in my book.
FogBat Posted September 10, 2010 Report Posted September 10, 2010 OK. http://www.buffalone...ticle184877.ece chz, very interesting article. I hope those guys make it. Having said that, we noticed that Mark DeLuca received no mention in that article. Must be :bag: since I called him out on it.
