beerme1 Posted August 21, 2010 Report Posted August 21, 2010 An open lettter to Darcy Regier A few years ago if you would remember we had one of the coolest things on ice when our very own lame Sabretooth would rappelle from the the rafters and then they changed who the guy was behind the suit which goes without saying (blame Darcy) We watched the new guy try but he chit his pants which I will honestly say I think I would too but the problem is the Organization ie: LQ et al, never cared to make any announcement regarding the mascot. Much like anything else. Keep it close to the vest. Sounds stupid I know, but it was and is amazingly cool to see Sabretooth rappelle from the rafters upside down and swinging side to side. It is the cooolest thing I see that a mascot can do and I'm guessing the Sabres brought the original guy back because the guy who has been doing the last two years looks like me. Head shaking sideways telling some guy on the radio, nope i'm not doing this. FU pal! You asked me to do clown like things to win my job not stupid demonstrations to win my job. LQ, DR find the original if you haven't yet and sign him to a lifetime contract and do it now! For gods sake I was telling people last november you need to sign Tyler to a lifetime contract. Do it Darcy . Do it! Make an impresion on the organization before you leave. I suspect it is already too late Darcy. You missed the boat as usual. You had a chance to sign a difference maker that you drafted and you choked on that. That is not only sad that is pathetic. Please find a new gig and take Larry with you! I used to admire you guys, but now I feel as though you all are incompetent. After watching our stars leave, I will say solidly incompetent! But you win because I am renewing my seasons but I really have had enough of you, LQ and God forgive me even Lindy. Something needs to change and that means someone needs to go. YOU. Thanks and bye.
Ghost of Dwight Drane Posted August 21, 2010 Report Posted August 21, 2010 Honorable Mayor Brown: In the aftermath of the tragic shooting outside a downtown establishment in the heart of what is left of our city's entertainment district, it comes to my attention that your administration, along with local business owners and law enforcement, are discussing ways to keep our streets safe while still allowing citizens to enjoy themselves in a responsible manner. Among the ideas proposed was that of an earlier closing hour for facilities serving alcoholic beverages. While there was solid objection from some business owners in taking last call from 4AM to 1AM, the benefits of such a decision would be far reaching, and extend beyond just the city limits. I hereby reference you to a posting on a popular Buffalo Sports internet forum, dated Saturday morning, August 21st, at just after the closing hour of 4AM. The poster responsible for the following was most likely engaging in highly imbibic activities, right up to said closing time. In his posting, he displays volitile emotions towards key figures of the Buffalo Sabres francise, most importantly, it's mascot, Sabretooth. While some may look past his charged offering as nothing to be concerned with, to me it is obvious that if the city took control and ended the weekend bacchanalia at 1AM, the threatening, disjointed, and somewhat borderline posting would never have occured. But because we cannot go back and change history, I am left to wonder; just who IS Sabretooth?....who WAS Sabretooth?....and who SHALL BE Sabretooth if God forbid the poster named after the nectar of satan himself is in possesion of a firearm? While I understand you have many important duties to tend to in conjunction with this recent tragedy, I implore you to think about the devistation that would occur if the city were to lose a mascot to violence.
