  1. 1. How fresh is the Sabres' product?

    • Very fresh! Crunchy on the outside and moist in the middle...
      2
    • Fairly fresh. A little of the crunch is lost and the middle is a tad dry.

    • Fading fast. Ready for the quick sale shelf.

    • Stale. Chuck it out to the birds and let them fight over it.

and if we didnt have myers or miller, you would still watch the sabres.

there's the rub, innit?

I probably watched 5 games from start to finish.

No it's not. Being entertained implies a positive connotation. I watched most of the games this year but I did not enjoy all of them. I often found myself watching other games on NHL network out of the desire to watch 'good' hockey as opposed to depressing hockey. The Sabres were rarely entertaining last year despite winning a good number of games. The bad games were abysmal and many of the wins were snoozefests to boot.

Compared to other teams and watching a lot of college hockey, the Sabres are not entertaining.

boo! They were good last year -- noticeably better than the previous year. There was a lot to like and to be entertained by. They weren't (and still aren't) as good as 2005-07 but they are climbing back.

They must have been good on the weekends when I was at RIT games because I don't remember feeling quite so satisfied that they were any good.

Fading fast.

Entertaining? Last year wasnt exactly captivating, but at least they won on a fairly consistent basis. But there were glaring weaknesses at the best of times. Unfortunately, those weaknesses happen to be what makes a team spectator friendly...heart, grit, and clutch performance. The winning held me just long enough to think that perhaps they could achieve the improbable. By mid February (or earlier)however, most of us saw what happened in Round 1 before it ever happened.

Bottom line, the new blood is a ho-hum replacement of the old, our expected top 6 addition of Ennis is more of the same smallish easily pushed around players, and the easily identifiable dead weight is still the heart of the problem.

This year was far form entertaining. Miller and Myers were nice surprises but they were greatly outweighed by the disappointments. Overall the style of play leaves a lot to be desired.

Why is it so hard for you to believe that the Sabres were not entertaining this year. For me, they really weren't. I watch the games because I love hockey and I love the Sabres, but there were many games,..MANY, where I was angry that I wasted 3 hours watching. What's strange is that a lot of them were wins.

Same players, same system, same coach, same mistakes. Tell me again how that's entertaining.

if you werent entertained then you wouldnt have watched the games. entertained and being satisfied with how the team plays is 2 different things.

No.

Being entertained is when you have "that" player that just makes you lean forward in your seat a little when he has the puck, because you know something might just happen.'

The Sabres have no such player(s).

The Sabres are the kind of team where you go to the bathroom during their PP's instead of the commercial break.

well then no one can say they arent entertaining, cause they are very much so.

Actually, I think they are very boring team to watch, except for Miller.

What we've got here is failure to communicate.

Some men you just can't reach. So you get what we had here last week, which is the way he wants it... well, he gets it. I don't like it any more than you men.

I was entertained all year. I looked forward to watching every game I could. I ended disappointed, but it always ends that way. I went to more hockey games last year than the previous few combined. If you turned on the TV to watch Sabres games, then you were entertained on some level, or you would not have done it.

We've all used the term so much that it has lost it's meaning, so went to Merriam-Webster.

entertain (I found their definition 3a to be most appropriate) : to keep, hold, or maintain in the mind.

Guess what? I found myself doing many other things during games, even though the TV was on,.. even during the playoffs.

There dose seem to be some confusion between the ideas of following a team and being entertained while following. I honestly can say the most entertaining hockey I watched all season did not involve the Buffalo Sabres.

Yes x100

I can recall countless games last year watching the Sabres make the same stupid plays over and over again, yelling at the TV every time they tried to execute that stupid blue line drop pass, or when Connolly, etc. would get cute with the puck, or when Pommers would shoot from the top of the right circle straight into the goalie's chest. The same things over and over again made watching the games a test of my own endurance. How long would it take me each game before I was frustrated and changed the channel or picked up some school work to do?

Watching other teams was what kept me sane last season.

Absolutely. That's not to say that the Sabres were alone, either. There were plenty of other teams out there that were boring as well. The Rags and Devils (as bad as their record was, the Islanders were pretty exciting to watch). I'm sure there were others but they were probably so boring that I can't remember who they were.

Like I said earlier, for three season's it's been the same players, same system, same coach, same mistakes, with nothing to change that this offseason. I guess we just have to hope for no injuries and that or core matures. :wallbash:

What kind of cookie?

Get in the car to see what kind :death: (This is what Darcy says to us at the beginning of every season :censored: )
