Stoner Posted March 11, 2006 Report Posted March 11, 2006 March 11, 1999 After a 5-2 loss to Tampa at Marine Midland Arena, the Sabres announce that they have traded Matt Barnaby to the Pittsburgh Penguins for Stu Barnes. The Sabres, who have slumped since just after Christmas, respond with three wins in a row and only five losses in their last 17 games. March 11, 2003 The Sabres trade Chris Gratton and a fourth-round pick in 2004 to Phoenix for Daniel Briere and a third-round pick in 2004. March 11, 2006 Mike Grier scores with 4.6 seconds left in the third period to give the Sabres a wild 6-5 win over the Flyers in Philadelphia. The Sabres overcame the news that head coach Lindy Ruff's daughter was suffering from a brain mass, not to mention an early 2-0 deficit and a shaky performance by goaltender Ryan Miller, who allowed five goals before being replaced by Marty Biron to start the third period. In the third, the Sabres outshot the Flyers 14-1 and outscored them 2-0. It was the Sabres' fifth straight win, extending their overall hot streak to 12-1-2, and their 20th one-goal victory of the season. The win epitomized the spirit of the 2005-06 Buffalo Sabres.

shrader Posted March 11, 2006 Report Posted March 11, 2006 This would be a great post in any of those thread complaining about Darcy Regier.
bob_sauve28 Posted March 11, 2006 Report Posted March 11, 2006 This would be a great post in any of those thread complaining about Darcy Regier. Ya, and ya know, this really is the team that Darcy built. The'99 team was Mucklers, but this is basically Regier's team.

This is definitely Darcy's team. I would say the '99 team was both of theirs as the coach and several key contributors (Barnes, Warrener, Patrick, Woolley, Rolosen) were not Muckler guys.
