Vanek Nation Posted July 21, 2010 Report Posted July 21, 2010 http://www.hockeybuzz.com/blog/Eklund/NHL-Rejects-Kovalchuk-Deal--now-what/1/29427 It's Eklund talking about the Kovalchuk contract being rejected by the NHL. Hopefully you noticed this quote: "After i texted himto tell him of the news, One team owner just texted me saying, 'I knew it! How the f***k can you have him making 550 in 2027!!!'" Hahahahah.... team owners! He talks to team owners! This guy is great!!!!
Mbossy Posted July 21, 2010 Report Posted July 21, 2010 Thread closed. 'Nuff said. if I saw him on the street...
BuffaloBeliever Posted July 22, 2010 Report Posted July 22, 2010 Eklund has a propensity of posting preposterous rumors that everybody knows won't happen, but even so he continues to post these false rumors that are probably pure fabrication of his fantasy.

And we all have a propensity for talking about him, and driving traffic to him. We should all be shot.

nobody Posted July 22, 2010 Report Posted July 22, 2010 How'd this thread get opened back up? Maybe the question should be why.
FogBat Posted July 22, 2010 Report Posted July 22, 2010 I'll shoot you first and then you can shoot me.
Stoner Posted July 22, 2010 Report Posted July 22, 2010 I'll shoot you first and then you can shoot me. Uhh, hmm, yeah OK.
FogBat Posted July 27, 2010 Report Posted July 27, 2010 Do what I do. Just don't go to the site. EXACTLYYYYYYYYY!!! No need for any serious hockey fan to be consuming the Eklund-flavored Kool Aid.
thesportsbuff Posted July 27, 2010 Report Posted July 27, 2010 I visit hockeybuzz daily. I know 95% of his rumors are ###### but at the very least it's some stuff to think and talk about. I don't even mind, really, that his rumors are always false -- rumors are rumors, and just because Eklund is starting them doesn't make them any more false than other rumor reporters/sites out there. The most annoying part of eklund, for me, is when he makes some absurd blog entry such as "Just got a text from a source about a big deal going down tonight... more to come" and then we never hear anything else about it. Even if the supposed deal falls thru, I would rather have him mention it and say so than just act like he never posted it to begin with.

If I told you I was a high end technician at a cable company and there was a chance that the Lifetime channel would "accidentally" be changed to the playboy channel around 8pm tonight would you say yea right and forget about it or turn the channel? This is probably the best way of making people keep coming back to his website. Other websites do the same thing for news but they actually report it later unlike hockeybuzz. It is fun to read some of the rumors that he brings up and they do make you think "what if?" but anything he reports is likely BS.
FogBat Posted July 27, 2010 Report Posted July 27, 2010 I visit hockeybuzz daily. I see you've been working around the pot farm again...
shrader Posted July 27, 2010 Report Posted July 27, 2010 I see you've been working around the pot farm again... Most disturbing avatar ever... but I think you should dedicate it to spndnchz instead.

Just in the 1/10,000 chance you are serious.....I know what I will be doing at 7:58 tonight. Point proven.

It is fun to read some of the rumors that he brings up and they do make you think "what if?" but anything he reports is likely BS. Any rumors you hear anywhere, period, are likely BS. The only the exception is when a respected NHL analyst breaks a signing or trade mere hours (sometimes minutes) before a team announces it, likely because they've been invited to a press conference or got the inside scoop a little early in order to build a report around it. So those aren't really "rumors" at all. Rumors are rumors and that's the business. Do I really think NHL players, GMs, or agents rush to their cell phones and dial up Eklund every time they make a breakthrough on a deal? No. Nobody has any clue what's going on other than the players and GMs themselves. Everything else is BS. It's still fun to read. I imagine Eklund bases his reports off conversations like these: Burke: Well what will you give us for Kaberle if we were to move him? Eklund: KABERLE ON THE MOVE, MORE TO COME Regier: How bout Stafford and a fifth rounder? Eklund: SABRES IN ON KABERLE, STAFFORD THE OTHER WAY? (E4) Burke: No thanks, I'm really looking for someone a little more talented than Drew Stafford. Eklund: BURKE WANTS TOP LINE TALENT FOR KABERLE.. THIS COULD GET INTERESTING... MORE TO COME Regier: Well anything more than Stafford is really pushing it.. I'll see what I can do and call you back. Eklund: MONTREAL LEADS THE HUNT FOR KABERLE etc.

shrader Posted July 27, 2010 Report Posted July 27, 2010 Which one? Pot farm, or the athletic cup? The cup. Definitely a different image than what we usually see on this board
FogBat Posted July 28, 2010 Report Posted July 28, 2010 The cup. Definitely a different image than what we usually see on this board I only figured it was fitting, given the username I applied my gift to. Well, what can I say? In order to get the Cup, they have to start somewhere, right? BTW, there's no way I would have given that one to spndnchz.

thesportsbuff Posted July 28, 2010 Report Posted July 28, 2010 i dont think anybody on the sabres team needs a cup tbh
FogBat Posted July 28, 2010 Report Posted July 28, 2010 i dont think anybody on the sabres team needs a cup tbh One shot to you-know-where would change that kind of thinking quickly. Then again, I have to wonder if Eklund wears one of those things on his head as "protection" against all the rightly founded criticism against him.
