I think it's time to give him a shot at backup goalie, he's not going to progress any longer in the AHL. I know there was some concern regarding this quote in a different thread:

“I’ve always been a starter when I’ve been playing, so it’s going to be new for me,” he said. “I think every goalie has to do those kind of things in his career, so I’m going to try to handle it.”

But honestly isn't it likely that every NHL goalie when he makes it to the NHL hasn't been a backup. They've likely been the best player at their position, especially a position that only carries 2 like goaltender, on every team they've ever played for. Isn't it also more likely that when they get called up to the NHL for the first time they come up as a backup.

It's only normal. Basically every guy was "the man" before he reached the NHL. Jhonas is very quiet. He's a sharp dude, though. His focus and demeanor are assets.

READ! READ! READ!

Bill -- if you want to get into "must read" territory, we need to know what's going on with Zherdev, and get some advance info on other similar moves.

Much obliged.

It seems like anything Zherdev came directly from Russia. Bill's going to have to tap into the frequent flier miles if he wants to hit up those sources.

nfreeman's post was the nadir of the Internet.

uhm ... huh?

i've typed a lot of other content beyond that, and then deleted it, so, really, i think i am going to leave it at that.

p.s. unless i'm failing to pick up the joke that hoppe laid down, there's irony in hoppe's characterizing freeman's content as the internet's nadir. seriously, bill, i encourage you to spend some time on 4chan's /b/ if you want to flirt with such content.

p.p.s. /secretly hoping that freeman and hoppe might spawn a mini leitch/bissinger-esque feud.

Bill, as I've said before, I like your work and am glad you post here. But you're urging us to read your pieces and it's clear that you benefit professionally by having a greater number of people click onto your pieces. What's wrong with us telling you what we want you to write about? We're your readers -- your clients, in a sense. In any professional setting, you need to be able to get feedback from your clients about what they really want without getting defensive.

The Enroth piece was interesting, but what people really want to know, right now, is what is happening with personnel moves, including Zherdev, who's been rumored to be heading to the Sabres. Nobody covering the Sabres ever seems to have a scoop on these matters.

Finally, in an internet rife with porn, scams, and instructions on how to commit terrorist acts, it's hard to see how a post on a hockey message board can be a nadir.

I rise to nfreeman's defense.

Bill's comment was just really weird.

I guess we all have to walk on eggshells when it comes to going after Bill here. I'm sure SDS won't tolerate it.

So, whatever. For me, my mental instruction will go something like this... DON'T READ. DON'T READ. DON'T READ.

I think by writing about Enroth, Bill is telling you what is going on in regards to the moves being made by Darcy.

This certainly isn't worth fighting about. Bill is in a tough business and I hope we can support him in any we can...

Make sure you click on some of the ads on his page as well.

Very diplomatic!

And there I was thinking this was the internet, where people just rant at each other using ill-informed opinions. I'm almost impressed.

Interesting piece about Enroth, something to think about until big news comes along.

Honest to God, it blows my mind the way that some folks rag on the most trivial things. We should be happy that Bill posts on this board and not complain just because a guy is trying to make a living. Just HAVE to complain about something!

I still can't quite understand what happened over on TSW with Tim Graham - getting so much grief from a few people that he just gave-up. Can't say that I blame him.

Save it for tomorrow. Complaint Thursdays will be re-opened then.
