Kristian Posted July 3, 2010 Report Posted July 3, 2010 PLEASE BE THE END OF ADAM MAIR. You're turning out to be my favorite poster of the week. It's been years since he was even remotely physical, he doesn't fight much, when he does he gets beaten up, he's always inured and he made himself look like a complete idiot going after Ruttuu in the visitor's locker room a few years back. Ruttuu/Neil are worthless pieces of human crap. By all means, cheapshot either into retirement for all I care. But never..... NEVER.... EVER.... cry about it in the hallways after the game in front of rolling cameras.
Kristian Posted July 3, 2010 Report Posted July 3, 2010 Well, I certainly recall more than a hand full of GDT's that ended with, "Why the ###### would Ruff put them out there to try and close a game?". I seem to remember a few "Mair sucks" rants along with those posts. You guys seriously don't remember Mair taking a silly penalty with under 2 to go on more than one occasion? I remember him taking a 2+2 in the 3rd in the Boston series. Forgot which one. This season, Mair's turned into Alexei Zhitnik when it comes to bonehead penalties late in the game.

If it happens often enough to be a pattern is it Mair's fault or the coach's fault?
billsrcursed Posted July 3, 2010 Report Posted July 3, 2010 If it happens often enough to be a pattern is it Mair's fault or the coach's fault? The coach would be my answer. That said, our system isn't going to change. I am fine with that but they need more responsible players on the ice during that time. Mair's not that player. Mair reminds me of a slower Max. Great hustle, but to a fault. Over skates, irresponsible with the puck, and takes dumb penalties. Cody showed he COULD be the player we need in these situations. Time will tell.

Well the fact that Buffalo didn't lose a game that they were ahead going into the third period and the fact that Mair, Kaletta, Ellis, et all were pretty much even in the +/- would seem to indicate that they didn't cause Buffalo a ton of games. Did Mair take a few dumb penalties? Sure. Did they lose a game or two, especially when Kennedy was going through his slump and playing on the 4th line? Sure. But how many games did they change the momentum of the game? You would have to do a lot of research but my guess is that Buffalo got better results from their third and fourth line then 90 % of the league. Its all about the top 6, if ask me.

My point is this doesnt really fill a need on the team. I guess it does if you consider mair as gone. But the overall picture hasnt changed...this team is worse now than they wre at the end of the season.

I didn't say a ton,I said a number of games. I agree that our 3rd/4th line guys were overall better than most other teams, but it doesn't change my opinion of Mair or McCormick. Mair's a proven liability.
