shrader Posted September 16, 2010 Report Posted September 16, 2010 I'd say all those early morning practices at the Staal household have paid off.. Except for that youngest brother. Second round draft pick? What a slacker.
rbochan Posted September 17, 2010 Report Posted September 17, 2010 Ducks sign Mara, lose Lydman to eye injury "The Anaheim Ducks signed free-agent defenceman Paul Mara to a one-year, $750,000 US contract on Thursday, bolstering a blue-line that will be missing another new signee when training camp opens this weekend. Ducks general manager Bob Murray said his club will start camp Saturday without defenceman Toni Lydman, who is sidelined after an unexplained episode of double vision last week..." http://www.cbc.ca/sports/hockey/story/2010/09/16/sp-mara-ducks-contract.html
spndnchz Posted September 17, 2010 Author Report Posted September 17, 2010 NJD invited Adam Mair to training camp. I'm gonna miss him fighting with his tongue out like a crazy man!
inkman Posted September 17, 2010 Report Posted September 17, 2010 NJD invited Adam Mair to training camp. I'm gonna miss him fighting with his tongue out like a crazy man! I wont miss his recent penchant for taking awful penalties and his ever progression leading away from what earned him roster spot in the NHL.

darksabre Posted September 17, 2010 Report Posted September 17, 2010 I wont miss his recent penchant for taking awful penalties and his ever progression leading away from what earned him roster spot in the NHL. Amen. But I still love the guy and hope he finds a spot somewhere.
korab rules Posted September 17, 2010 Report Posted September 17, 2010 Amen. But I still love the guy and hope he finds a spot somewhere. He will - probably in the AHL. His time has passed.
spndnchz Posted September 17, 2010 Author Report Posted September 17, 2010 He will - probably in the AHL. His time has passed. Some insight... http://blogs.northjersey.com/blogs/fireice/mair_could_give_devils_flexibility_mcammond_will_not_be_back_door_not_close/ They didn't take McAmmond back and gave Mair his #11.
nfreeman Posted September 17, 2010 Report Posted September 17, 2010 For those who were hankering for Marc Savard: it doesn't look good. Marc Savard, complaining of symptoms that are consistent with post-concussion syndrome, will not be ready for the start of training camp. Savard has not worked out in the last few weeks, according to GM Peter Chiarelli. There is no timetable as to when Savard might start working out and skating. And he's got SEVEN years to go on his new contract. Eeeeeeeeeesh.
korab rules Posted September 17, 2010 Report Posted September 17, 2010 Sign him , Darcy! DO IT! Your not trying unless you sign someone I've heard of!
carpandean Posted September 18, 2010 Report Posted September 18, 2010 Amen. But I still love the guy and hope he finds a spot somewhere. Same here. I never regretted buying his jersey. Blood and guts player.
shrader Posted September 19, 2010 Report Posted September 19, 2010 Mark Parrish is in on a tryout? Funny how that one slipped by completely. Should be a good guy for Portland.
nobody Posted September 20, 2010 Report Posted September 20, 2010 Mark Parrish is in on a tryout? Funny how that one slipped by completely. Should be a good guy for Portland. Did they give him Mair's old number?

spndnchz Posted September 25, 2010 Author Report Posted September 25, 2010 Looks like NY Rangers are using Wade Redden to get under the cap. He's getting put on waivers today. 6.5 million.
carpandean Posted September 25, 2010 Report Posted September 25, 2010 Looks like NY Rangers are using Wade Redden to get under the cap. He's getting put on waivers today. 6.5 million. Git 'er dun, Darcy! By "er" I mean the dishes or any other task that is not calling the Rangers.
Eleven Posted September 25, 2010 Report Posted September 25, 2010 Git 'er dun, Darcy! By "er" I mean the dishes or any other task that is not calling the Rangers. Same here. $6.5M--or anything remotely approaching it--for another defenseman who has been mediocre lately? I'll pass.

shrader Posted October 1, 2010 Report Posted October 1, 2010 Mottau! Mottau! Mottau! Michael Mottau! ... wait, Mike? Nevermind. I'm surprised no one has attacked Darcy for this one. We could have had 3 consecutive Hobey winners.
