Stoner Posted August 31, 2010 Report Posted August 31, 2010 There's actually 3 of them, but the girl who scored both goals in the gold medal game against the US is the big one. I've never cared much for women's hockey, thanks mostly to the fact that BU doesn't really bother to advertise for it at all, but this might be enough to get me to go. Personally, I don't think they'll really care. She has three of them? Wow. Put her in goal. I think the media attention leading up the first game, and the Kennedy side story, will generate enough interest to make some kind of response in the arena likely.
ThePebble19 Posted August 31, 2010 Report Posted August 31, 2010 Championship. Sabres re-sign Matt Ellis to a 1 year deal. http://sabres.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=536680&navid=DL|BUF|home

Should be a nice rotation between him and Mccormick on the 4th line.
shrader Posted August 31, 2010 Report Posted August 31, 2010 Hopefully a two-way deal this time around. I could see him getting the 13th forward slot instead of Gerbe though.
Two or less Posted August 31, 2010 Report Posted August 31, 2010 Hopefully a two-way deal this time around. I could see him getting the 13th forward slot instead of Gerbe though. Same here. I like the signing because I do like Ellis on a short term need, i just don't think he's tough enough to be a regular in the lineup. I love what he does but for the right team and i don't feel thats a great fit here. I hope Cody McCormick gets the fourth line ahead of him and then it will be interesting to see what happens between Ellis and Gerbe for the last spot.
darksabre Posted August 31, 2010 Report Posted August 31, 2010 One of three players on the team who doesn't skate like he's high on zoloft.
inkman Posted August 31, 2010 Report Posted August 31, 2010 One of three players on the team who doesn't skate like he's high on zoloft. It resembles a large rubber band being affixed to his feet.
Calvin Posted September 1, 2010 Report Posted September 1, 2010 standing-O for Kennedy? for what exactly? for being born in Buffalo?
buffaloaggie Posted September 1, 2010 Report Posted September 1, 2010 My gut tells me we will end up with Stempniak...maybe that's not a bad thing...maybe it is. Time for a lapband :D
Stoner Posted September 1, 2010 Report Posted September 1, 2010 standing-O for Kennedy? for what exactly? for being born in Buffalo? For scoring, for shoving it in The Man's Face.
korab rules Posted September 1, 2010 Report Posted September 1, 2010 I think Kennedy is the one who had it shoved in his face when the best he could do was a 550k contract. I would guess the helmet he wears this year will be several sizes smaller.

I would guess the helmet he wears this year will be several sizes smaller. Actually, he will be getting paid more cash this year than if he signed the deal the Sabres offered him.....and has a 1 way contract. If he sucks....he would have only had 1 more year on his deal to "steal" anyway. The kid is going to play with a chip on his shoulder. It should be fun to watch.

No one knows for sure what the Sabres offered, but the only reason the money he gets this year will be anything near what the Sabres offered is because the franchise that reuses those plastic soda cups everyone leaves in the stands saw fit to buy him out. He should play with desperation, because his hockey future is riding on what he does this year, but a chip on his shoulder? I would think that would be reserved for a player that could get a team to pay him more than the league minimum.
spndnchz Posted September 2, 2010 Author Report Posted September 2, 2010 Sharks sign Niemi to a one-year contract. $2 million.
Two or less Posted September 2, 2010 Report Posted September 2, 2010 Kevin Allen reports Habs and Carey Price have agreed on a 2 year extension.

spndnchz Posted September 3, 2010 Author Report Posted September 3, 2010 Mike Comrie signs w/Pens for 1 yr, $500,000
wjag Posted September 3, 2010 Report Posted September 3, 2010 Mike Comrie signs w/Pens for 1 yr, $500,000 That's astonishingly cheap.
carpandean Posted September 3, 2010 Report Posted September 3, 2010 That's astonishingly cheap. Yeah, I thought the league minimum was as least $550k. Can he afford Hillary at that price? Uh, I mean ... :bag:
korab rules Posted September 3, 2010 Report Posted September 3, 2010 Mike Comrie signs w/Pens for 1 yr, $500,000 And the arbitrators give TK a mill? Why do we have to lose assets to prove a painfully obvious point?
spndnchz Posted September 10, 2010 Author Report Posted September 10, 2010 Andrew Cogliano re-ups with Edmonton. Still have Bergfors, Ryan, Marc Staal, Neal, Mueller, Hanzal, Niskanen unsigned.
spndnchz Posted September 10, 2010 Author Report Posted September 10, 2010 Andrew Cogliano re-ups with Edmonton. LOL guess what he got? 1 year 1 million. 07-08 18 goals 45 points 08-09 18 goals, 38 pts 09-10 10 goals, 28 pts
nobody Posted September 10, 2010 Report Posted September 10, 2010 LOL guess what he got? 1 year 1 million. 07-08 18 goals 45 points 08-09 18 goals, 38 pts 09-10 10 goals, 28 pts I guess word hasn't reached Edmonton yet that the Sabres and others have balked at that contract.
spndnchz Posted September 11, 2010 Author Report Posted September 11, 2010 Phoenix Coyotes have signed veteran center Martin Hanzal to a two year, $3.6 million dollar contract. 1.5 and 2.1
SwampD Posted September 11, 2010 Report Posted September 11, 2010 Phoenix Coyotes have signed veteran center Martin Hanzal to a two year, $3.6 million dollar contract. 1.5 and 2.1 23 years old is a veteran? One more question, 7 more points that Kennedy gets him an extra million?
