SwampD Posted June 23, 2010 Report Posted June 23, 2010 adam oates was beast , but is he worthy of the hockey hall of fame? Compare him to Ron Francis I don't have to compare him to anyone. He should be in.
SabresneedaCup Posted June 23, 2010 Report Posted June 23, 2010 I don't have to compare him to anyone. He should be in. yeah i agree, he was a one of a kind playmaker.
SwampD Posted June 23, 2010 Report Posted June 23, 2010 yeah i agree, he was a one of a kind playmaker. Actually, didn't his name come up a while back in a thread about all-time Sabre killers? EDIT:Nope. Even there he got overlooked.
SabresneedaCup Posted June 23, 2010 Report Posted June 23, 2010 Actually, didn't his name come up a while back in a thread about all-time Sabre killers? im not sure, i havent been on this board for that long.
shrader Posted June 23, 2010 Report Posted June 23, 2010 I don't have to compare him to anyone. He should be in. But since he was stuck on bad teams over the years, the voters continue to screw him over. Meanwhile, Francis player 300 more games in his career and rode on Lemieux's coattails for a few years. There are only 3 players ahead of Oates on the all time scoring list that are not in the Hall already, Mark Recchi (still active), Joe Sakic (will be first ballot), and Jaromir Jagr (I wonder how the KHL effects when he becomes eligible). That Oates has been passed over so many times is a complete travesty. Dino Ciccarelli? That's an absolute sham. And since I mentioned him, Recchi will be an interesting case when he hangs them up. He's got an outside shot at being top 10 by then, but I'm not so sure he belongs.
darksabre Posted June 23, 2010 Report Posted June 23, 2010 I'm happy to see Granato (and Jackson) get in. It's about time women players started getting recognized. Not really impressed with the other choices though.
bunomatic Posted June 23, 2010 Report Posted June 23, 2010 Its disappointing that Pat Burns isn't included in this years inductees. It would be special if they could honour him when he's still around to see it. He's deserving of the honour.

Not really impressed with the other choices though. I'm always happy to see halls of fame not just focus on whichever "major league". It would be nice to see the pro football hof add some players who only played in the CFL.
