Two or less Posted June 8, 2010 Report Posted June 8, 2010 Good day for former Sabres.... it appears Craig Ramsey will be named Atlanta head coach.
mphs mike Posted June 9, 2010 Report Posted June 9, 2010 I expect the 'Jackets to have a top notch power play - something we haven't had since he left!

LabattBlue Posted June 10, 2010 Report Posted June 10, 2010 Wasn't the year of Arniel being proclaimed a GREAT PP coach, the post lockout year when no one could be touched 5-5, 5-4 or even 5-3? The same year when offensive numbers spiked like crazy across the league and have subsequently decreased in the years since?
LabattBlue Posted June 11, 2010 Report Posted June 11, 2010 Official announcement from earlier this week... http://tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=323897

I've never totally bought the idea that the season after the lockout, you couldn't touch someone, and now you can mug them. Seems overly simplistic.
Stoner Posted June 11, 2010 Report Posted June 11, 2010 P.S. Interesting historic NHL goals per game chart can be found here: http://www.dropyourgloves.com/Stat/LeagueGoals.aspx Goals per game this season still above pre-lockout levels, but down from 05-06 spike.

Coaching is definitely a part of it, but the enforcement is also an issue. If you watch a game from that first post-lockout season, you'll see that defensemen very rarely held up a forechecking forward. That didn't last very long.
