Stoner Posted June 9, 2010 Report Posted June 9, 2010 Why not? Worked for Pittsburg. Suck bad enough an we can finally get that top tier talent eveyone talks about. Is it any coincidence our best player (outside the goalie) is our only top 5 pick.? An up and down cycle every 5-7 years is better than continual medocrity. The bills and sabres are exhibit 1 and 1A. The Sabres were bad enough to have the same shot at Crosby as the Pens. Just sayin'.
shrader Posted June 9, 2010 Report Posted June 9, 2010 The Sabres were bad enough to have the same shot at Crosby as the Pens. Just sayin'. Actually, being really bad then slightly hurt a team's chances of getting Crosby. If you had the 1st overall pick in the last 5 years, you had one less ball in that lottery.
korab rules Posted June 9, 2010 Report Posted June 9, 2010 The Sabres were bad enough to have the same shot at Crosby as the Pens. Just sayin'. Yeah, and ended up picking 13th. But what about Malkin and Staal and Fleury, did we have the same chance those years? That year was an anomaly due to the lock out. If it wasn't for the lockout, we would have had no chance at Crosby or anyone else in the top 5 absent a trade. As it turned out, we picked 13th and chose a guy that has never and likely will never play in the NHL, while Pittsburgh gets a generational talent. Fuc_ Pittsburgh.
