GGM Posted March 11, 2006 Report Posted March 11, 2006 ok, the bleeding is over. end of 1st period. nothing good can be said on this. if this team wants to run with the big dogs it won't make dumb mistakes that lead to goals. they actually didn't play all that bad. they had some decent scoring chances, but they're down 0-2. they need a goal early. They DO look pretty stupid today, don't they? Anyway, the reason the Sabres are down 2-0 is because their goaltender has made big saves and our's hasn't. Is there anyone out there who is STILL glad that Ryan Miller didn't go to the Olympics?

He has had a bit of trouble getting back into it since the break. But down the road it could still prove to be beneficial. I would be just as willing to blame 2 awful giveaways as the lack of big saves.

With that said, i'm glad that marty was not traded... Miller will have to step up and fill in for the lack of support he's receiving right now

Miller will have to step up and fill in for the lack of support he's receiving right now Miller looked bad on Thursday and he doesn't look good so far today. Rob Ray, for once, was right on during the break: Miller is going down too early. Possibly a sign of fatigue (Ray pointed this out) but my thought is it's just something he needs to fine-tune in his game right now. Lack of support? Yes, two turnovers today have been a big problem. But 8 goals on Thursday, well, how much more support should a goalie count on?

But 8 goals on Thursday, well, how much more support should a goalie count on? I actually thought Miller kept the Sabres in the game on Thursday, but it seems to me that he's thinking a lot more about his saves/goals allowed, and it's starting to affect how he plays. He's a little tight, and I really hope he can do whatever Buddhist ritual he did to get in the fame of mind he's been in thus far to snap out of it. Miller's still making some great saves and the Sabres are still getting quality chances. Add that to the fact that the Sabres just don't get phased by adversity, and I'm thinking Buffalo isn't out of this one yet.
Corp000085 Posted March 11, 2006 Report Posted March 11, 2006 scoooooooooooooooooooooooores! dumont 15 seconds into the 2nd. there's the quick goal
Corp000085 Posted March 11, 2006 Report Posted March 11, 2006 Scoooooooooooooooooooores hecht on the best offensive series i've seen in years! philly just burned their time out. Don't FU(K with the BUFFALO SABRES! 2-2
Alaska Darin Posted March 11, 2006 Report Posted March 11, 2006 Note to Ken Hitchcock and Booby Clarke: Big immobile defensemen are going to be extinct in the NHL.
Corp000085 Posted March 11, 2006 Report Posted March 11, 2006 oh ah oh ah sabres on a warpath. desjardins gets a penalty for hooking. oh man. 3-2 philly on another shg SCOoooooooooooooooooooores~! briere on the PP. tit for tat, 3-3 tie game again.
Corp000085 Posted March 11, 2006 Report Posted March 11, 2006 numminen's season stats 300000 assists, 1 goal 4-3 sabres. TN tips in the rebound as a trailer to a 2 on 1 break
Corp000085 Posted March 11, 2006 Report Posted March 11, 2006 i'm pretty confident that first period was a continuation of thursday's game... they're playing their game now. the short handed goals concern me though. playoff teams don't do that. still 4-3
hopeleslyobvious Posted March 11, 2006 Report Posted March 11, 2006 I love how that caught Rick and Jim by suprise.
Corp000085 Posted March 11, 2006 Report Posted March 11, 2006 its 4-4 now. why can't we just beat some team 6-0 so i don't have to worry about my personal health during the 3rd period?
Eleven Posted March 11, 2006 Report Posted March 11, 2006 Miller is going down quicker than Marilyn Chambers.
Corp000085 Posted March 11, 2006 Report Posted March 11, 2006 ugh. I think that Miller needs a rest. he'll get his rest tomorrow
GGM Posted March 11, 2006 Report Posted March 11, 2006 ugh. I think that Miller needs a rest. I like Ruff sticking with him...Still gotta think his psyche is fragile, let him work this out now while we aren't facing elimination from anything. I wonder if Biron is salivating.
Corp000085 Posted March 11, 2006 Report Posted March 11, 2006 oy 5-4 philly... we might see biron in the 3rd after all. horrible game by miller
sabre31_98 Posted March 11, 2006 Report Posted March 11, 2006 I think he will be resting in the 3rd period as well.
Seannie34 Posted March 11, 2006 Report Posted March 11, 2006 5-4 philly they score with about 30 seconds left in the period. every goal has been up high and they have all almost touched the post. They are good shots but its pretty clear Miller needs a rest..
GGM Posted March 11, 2006 Report Posted March 11, 2006 5 goals on 20 shots, all high. Still, we won the period 4-3. Think the guys are in there saying that they may owe Ryan a game or two since he's pulled so many out fo them? That'd be like this group.
