Eleven Posted June 4, 2010 Report Posted June 4, 2010 Peters is either already in or soon should be joining that union. So I can understand his disdain. nicely done.
bunomatic Posted June 4, 2010 Report Posted June 4, 2010 Come on,who really cares what Peters wants. Is he now considered some great hockey oracle in the city of Buffalo?Must be the off season.

I don't recall him making the highlight reel this past season with his version of haymakers. The only two things that I remember from his time in Buffalo was when he knocked out McGrattan on a fluke punch and his golf swing.

That was no fluke. Peters is a big guy. When that shot actually lands, it's going to do some damage.

SwampD Posted June 5, 2010 Report Posted June 5, 2010 You're talking about the future, long-time, mediocre head coach of the Buffalo Sabres, bub! I don't need to read another post today. This one has given me everything I need.

Sam Williams Posted June 7, 2010 Report Posted June 7, 2010 Did anyone catch that on WGR's site? Watch the "WGR Video" with Peters and right at the start Howard asks if Peters is rooting for either team in the finals and Peters says something like "Off the record...I'll tell ya what, I'm not rooting for Pat Kane." Peters and J. White go on to say how they know Kaleta hates Kane. I thought this was funny, mostly because Peters says "off the record" when the camera is rolling. Makes me wonder why two goons like Kaleta and Peters hate a guy that they only play once a year? Maybe Kane is a jackass...Go Sabres. Chances are they grew up playing eachother on travel teams and in Juniors. If you've never played competitive hockey on that level, you really wouldn't understand. I still have grudges against people i played against 10 years ago

I still have grudges against people i played against 10 years ago Peters is 8 years older than Kane, so it's safe to say they never played against each other growing up. It's all about the close circle of pro players living in Buffalo.

shrader Posted June 7, 2010 Report Posted June 7, 2010 and isnt peters canadian? yeah, but Kane played one year of juniors in the OHL with London, so if they had been closer in age there would have been some potential for a crossover.

If you've never played competitive hockey on that level, you really wouldn't understand. I still have grudges against people i played against 10 years ago It could be much simpler than that. Maybe Kane commented on Peters' fighting style one day at the local NHL player's ice time, or went home with some girl that Peters had the hots for, hit on his wife, etc., etc.. Unless someone tells us otherwise, there's a whole host of possible reasons both hockey and non-hockey related for the animosity.
