BillHoppe Posted May 20, 2010 Report Posted May 20, 2010 I make the argument the Habs should here. I think it's the only major shakeup they have.
Steve Phillips Posted May 20, 2010 Report Posted May 20, 2010 Actually, if I was Montreal, I would start by trying to actually score a goal before changing goalies. Can't win a game if you can't score at least 1 goal! Start there. Address the goalie situation after you actually put a goal on the board.

I get that it's the only major change that can be made at this point, but it's not a GOOD change. Moreover, I think they should get a boost just from being back home.
Marvelo Posted May 20, 2010 Report Posted May 20, 2010 The Habs need to get momentum somehow. Whether it's inserting one of the Kostisyn brothers in the lineup or a few of their dormant (this series) free agents, they've got to pierce Leighton. Cary Price isn't exactly the Rock of Gibraltar and before pulling Halak, I'd have to look at both of their records against the Flyers. Whoever is in I'm sure will have a short leash. But in the playoffs it's about momentum and Montreal with their two miraculous series may be out of gas.
Chief Enabler Posted May 20, 2010 Report Posted May 20, 2010 Keep Halak to work it out. Just need to give Flyers credit for settling into the playoffs nicely. Their combination of coaching experience, young and veteran roster and surprise goaltending/defence is doing it. <_< I do/did enjoy watching the Montreal midget line come together this season, unexpected, successful from them.
bunomatic Posted May 20, 2010 Report Posted May 20, 2010 Halaks lost his mojo but price never had any so you go with who got you there.Unless its a complete meltdown.I agree with the above statement that you let him work it out.

Halak vs. Philly 2.55 GAA and .921 SV% Price vs Philly 1.90 GAA and .937 SV% Seems an easy choice to me. You need to do something to not go down 3-0.

Goalies need to steal games in the playoffs.

The ex-Sabre who was let go by the current administration? Yeah..... At least the Flyers know talent.

deluca67 Posted May 21, 2010 Report Posted May 21, 2010 Ahem. You are patting yourself on the back because a team is winning a home game in the playoffs? Philly was on such a roll they were bound to have a game like tonight. Saturday night is going to be a great game. Hockey Night In Canada, Montreal Canadians and the Philadelphia Flyers. With all the technology they should be able to broadcast the game in grainy black and white with the game being called by Dick Irvin Jr.
