nobody Posted May 17, 2010 Report Posted May 17, 2010 Heavy Metal wouldn't have been Heavy Metal without Dio.
darksabre Posted May 17, 2010 Report Posted May 17, 2010 Yesterday was a sad day for music. Keep on rockin' Ronnie.
LabattBlue Posted May 17, 2010 Report Posted May 17, 2010 I am really showing my music limitations when I say that I had never heard of him before yesterday.
deluca67 Posted May 17, 2010 Report Posted May 17, 2010 I am really showing my music limitations when I say that I had never heard of him before yesterday. I guess you were indeed 'The Last in Line'. RIP RJD
Spudz Posted May 17, 2010 Report Posted May 17, 2010 I'm sad =( He is now battling demons and evil wizards in the afterlife. RIP DIO!
FogBat Posted May 17, 2010 Report Posted May 17, 2010 I guess you were indeed 'The Last in Line'. RIP RJD :o Ouch! Man, that was harsh. I wasn't really a fan of Dio's, but at least he wasn't one of those one-hit wonders where people go "Who was that all those years ago?".
bunomatic Posted May 17, 2010 Report Posted May 17, 2010 Fillin the boots of Ozzy was an impossible job in my mind but Dio did an admirable job and made me a fan.RIP
Mbossy Posted May 17, 2010 Report Posted May 17, 2010 The vision never dies, life's a never ending wheel.... Holy Diver. RIP We're off to the witch - We may never never never come home - But the magic that we'll feel - Is worth a lifetime... Last in Line http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iy6URlmeUpk
SMIRNOFF Posted May 17, 2010 Report Posted May 17, 2010 The last time I saw him was 2 years ago @ Darien Lake (for those not familiar it is between Rochester & Buffalo) with Heaven and ######. I was amazed how good he could still sing. He must of been 64 or so then. He will be missed. RIP
cdexchange Posted May 17, 2010 Report Posted May 17, 2010 My first concert ever was Dio on the Holy Diver tour. It was at Kleinhans(!) I believe, and I was 14. I won the tickets off Carl Russo on 97 Rock, and my Mom drove my friend and I to the show and (very reluctantly) dropped us off in front. It was 27 years ago, but I remember it like it was yesterday. R.I.P. R.J.D. \m/

Ohiofan Posted May 17, 2010 Report Posted May 17, 2010 oooo bummer. Great voice, great performer. Didn't think anyone could fill Ozzy's shoes, but he did. \m/ >.< \m/
Eleven Posted May 18, 2010 Report Posted May 18, 2010 oooo bummer. Great voice, great performer. Didn't think anyone could fill Ozzy's shoes, but he did. \m/ >.< \m/ But could he fill Sharon?
shrader Posted May 18, 2010 Report Posted May 18, 2010 Pearl Jam added a riff from one of his songs to the end of Alive at their show in Boston last night. I'd imagine that anyone doing a show right around now would be doing the same thing.
deluca67 Posted May 18, 2010 Report Posted May 18, 2010 But could he fill Sharon? Randy Rhodes did.
Mbossy Posted May 18, 2010 Report Posted May 18, 2010 oooo bummer. Great voice, great performer. Didn't think anyone could fill Ozzy's shoes, but he did. \m/ >.< \m/ Took me a day but now I get it.
Ohiofan Posted May 18, 2010 Report Posted May 18, 2010 Took me a day but now I get it. My teenager taught me that
TheChimp Posted May 19, 2010 Report Posted May 19, 2010 If it weren't for Ronnie James Dio, I would still think that those stripes make the tiger very, very dirty.
