shrader Posted May 3, 2010 Report Posted May 3, 2010 The 2.3 mil will buy a better blueliner compared to what River has left in the tank. But can you buy out an injured player? Someone more familiar with the buyout portion of the CBA will have to answer that one for me.
LabattBlue Posted May 3, 2010 Report Posted May 3, 2010 But can you buy out an injured player? Someone more familiar with the buyout portion of the CBA will have to answer that one for me. Good question. Why couldn't he just keep the injury to himself! :D
FearTheReaper Posted May 3, 2010 Author Report Posted May 3, 2010 I think it has more to do with money than July 1, 2007. This is a great city to play hockey in and to raise a family but it's unlikely (see: never) that the organization is going to plunk down the dollars it takes to attract the best free agents. Very true. But there is a sense of uncertainty about Buffalo, especially when it comes to the FA market. How many guys stay long term after we sign them in free agency? Players know that if they sign here in july, this is likly the only contract they get in this city. Spacek is a good example. He played out his deal, and left. I never heard a word about resigning him, and i dont think he wanted to be here.
