This guy is the most frustrating player imaginable. He gets injured for 2/3 of the games in his 3 year contract, somehow manages to get a 50% pay upgrade on his new contract, and once again fades into non-existence when it counts. I'm tired of him not playing or being around when the team needs him. He was the absolute worst player during the entire series, and somehow managed to one-up himself for game 6. Of course its the, "Tim isn't 100%" excuse again. Get this guy off my team.

Tiny Tim the Playoff Eunuch is set to make $4.5 million again next season. You think he has any trade value or are we stuck with him for another year?

Also, Regier needs to be fired before he has the chance to give him another absurd contract extension.

He needs to be taken behind the shed and put out of his misery once and for all. I can't tell whose face makes me cringe more - his or Chris Neils

They need more depth this organization can't expect for vanek roy Pomminstein and connoly to do all the job yeah they have young good players but we need more players with experience and BIGGER not 5'6 or 5'10 players even though i like gerbe but speed doesn't work on playoffs maybe in the season cause they dont play the same team but in a 7 game series it will not work. If they want speed they should add up to some strengh

Call me wrong, but I think Darcy should be let go. Fail to sign DB, CD, Brian Campbell, resigns Connolly and they ALL we get at the deadline is Torres. OH and we trade some people that have work ethic, and keep all this deadbeat weight... SOMEONE has to answer... its gotta be Darcy... I've stayed silent, but after this, its depressing. One thing I don't like about Darcy, is he never takes a chance. There are player like Satan, siting and have that sleeper ability and we pass them up.

Sorry... its all coming out now as I am tired and frustrated. Tired of management settling for just getting by and doing the minimum just for the money. I'm so close to just giving up and stop caring... but that's only out of frustration so I'll stop for now.

Campbell? Who was the brightest part of this entire series? How did we acquire him?

He's not going anywhere.

Its all the people he's failed to re-sign, or grab on free agency. Its just frustrating.... overall. I just wanna pull my hair out...

What did you think of all of the rookies in this series? A lot of the credit for those guys belongs with Darcy. As for those big departures, the idiotic policy of not renegotiating in season is at fault there. Now whether that was Darcy's idea, Quinn's or Golisano's is up for debate, but I've always been of the thought that it came from higher up.

I don't expect him traded in the off-season.

In my ideal world, the Sabres sign a "leadership" center for the top line, dropping Timmy to 2nd line and Roy to checking line center / top 2 line winger on occassion.

That, sign an assistant coach that has seen a functional powerplay, bring back 1/2 of Tallyman and another free agent D man, bring back Grier, and one of Mair or preferably Ellis, and I'll be happy heading into next year.

[Edit]And send Stafford to somebody that believes they've seen enough of an edge to his game to be able to bring it out every game. He's young enough and big enough and has shown an edge JUST often enough that someone will give legit value for him. (And just like everybody that's ever traded for Chris Gratton, they will regret the trade 2 months after they made it.)

Yes... congrats with the drafted talent.... they will eventually slip past us also. It's the fact that the situation never changes, our good guys leave and we can't spend a little to get something OR take a chance on a Satan, Recchi, Guerin and the the like(only exception is Grier).... And about Torres... I just think people expected too much of him... and he should have not been the only one acquired, which is what put the spotlight on him.

That was Tom's policy and it was his desk that the Drury extension sat on. He appears to have learned his lesson.

Even w/out having a world class leader that can also score such as Kovalchuk :o , this team isn't far from being a legit contender. Hopefully Darcy can convince upper management of that.

Stop kidding yourself.

At the time of the trade, Torres was a gritty, 20-goal scorer who had been a leader on an Edmonton team that went to the cup final. We were sitting for crying for grit and experience, and that's exactly what we got. Darcy made the trade to make this team better this year. We gave up a 7th defenseman who would never see the ice and a draft pick. On paper, the trade was the right call. Too bad it didn't pan out, but you can't blame Darcy for that.

Meanwhile, Miro has coasted his entire career. He's made his fortune off of meaningless goals and has never taken a leadership role on any team. True, he scored a few goals this series, but they were on wide open nets on glorious opportunities. If Darcy had signed Miro, there'd have been a riot downtown--he's exactly what you don't want going into the postseason.

Well.. EXCUSE ME.... did he not just kill us 2 of the last 3 games, counted down and out... looking for work.... and helps a offensively poor team like Boston past at least the first series... YES I DID! I didn't mean we should have GOT him, I said guys LIKE him... different people have different effects on different teams.... thats what I'm saying

If Andrew Peters had those chances, he'd have scored twice too.

While it kills me that Ziro was the Sabre killer this year, he wasn't on the 1st crack at it in either game that he killed 'em. Ziro tried to let them off the hook, but they just wouldn't take the reprieve.

And you are right, there is NO WAY Ziro would ever be accepted on this squad.

Anyone with motivation and ambition could have scored those goals... but we have people like Connolly standing around.

I've always assumed it was Golisano. Didn't he also have a quote from around the same time saying that he thinks everyone should be on one year deals, constantly trying to earn that next contract?

I completely agree that they aren't that far away. I have no idea how the market looks this year (trade or free agent), but I'd love to see a more offensively able version of the Grier signing (of course, after he is re-signed as well). The young guys are going to be the driving force of this team and they need that example to follow.

That goes both ways. Doesn't the play of the core, which was handsomely rewarded with long term contracts, argue in favor of Golisano's philosophy? No wonder he just threw up his hands and moved to Florida.
