great game tonight! glad to see the pirates stepping in/up. hopefully it keeps the 'core' on their toes. IS ANYONE GOING TO START A DISCUSSION ABOUT MILLER AND HIS 'PORNSTACHE" VS. SATAN?! It definitely isn't a playoff beard....

Ennis' effort on that last goal set an example for the whole team, that was passion and desperation. Also great job by Grier on blocking that shot. The team was a shot blocking machine tonight!

LOL tonight was the first I saw that too, can't decide if it's disgusting or super-sweet.

Now if we can just get Lindy to sit Stafford and Connolly next game!

Hey I saw Connolly actually hit someone tonight - talk about playing out of character!! But I'd definitely like to see Vanek back in and Stafford out... keep Gerbe, Ennis, and McCormick, those guys rock.

I get the feeling Ennis turned a corner in this game. Seems to be trusting his game more. Actually, he started to feel it in game four. He should be blazing Monday night. Keep it going!

GO SABRES!!!

I really think he's had an excellent series...it just didn't show in the box score. He's showing his hustle and effort like he's trying to make the team.

Keep going Tyler!

hey! i am happy to see it from him. i'd put my money on him over satan. 'pornstache' or 'pimpstache,' he looked ready to b!tcch-slap satan & i like it.

IF they were going out, i want to see them go swinging!

on that note, i take full credit for the win tonight, as i pulled a brodeur this morning, and shaved my week old playoff beard to change the sabres' luck. worked for buffalo...not for the devils.

Mancari for Stafford wouldnt be bad from my view

Only reason we're saying this is because we didn't get the refs to call penalties on the Bruins after that amazing PP by Staff, Ennis, and Gerbe. I wanna see that again and HOW!!!

I love that Miller got involved - glad he didn't get more involved (don't want him hurting himself!) but the emotion is awesome and the crowd went nuts. :worthy: :worthy: :worthy:

Tonight was a effort that the players, coaches and fans should be proud of. They showed they were the better team. This could be the Sabres defining playoff moment. I have little doubt that this effort will carry into game Six. I just heard Miller say the Bruins had just seen the Sabres best game. He is 100% correct. The Bruins and their fans should be really concerned. I woke this morning feeling the season was over. Seeing how this team responded I feel there is plenty of hockey left to be played.

This board is so much nicer to be around after a win.

This is the team we needed to see tonight, and they showed up. Great to see, and I hope they maintain this momentum into Monday night.

+1

I wore my jersey to work today because I was also afraid the season was going to end tonight, even though I still had hope... looks like I have to wear my jersey again on Monday!

Oh, Claude, you and your mind games. Just like the rest of the series, "we'll be blamed for starting it." Uhhhh …

I caught that, too. What a douche. Reminded me of the Lisper in Ottawa, there. Can't wait til Lindy gets wind of it.

It's not just the win it's the effort. They won game one and I was concerned. Tonight was the Sabres "best case scenario" as far as all around effort. What I am hoping, as I am sure others are as well, is that tonight represents the "switch" being turned on. There was a sense of self sacrifice I have been pining to see for a long time. How can any player watch Mike Grier take a slap shot off the head and shake it off and not completely sell out physically. At one point they flashed a stat where the Sabres blocked 12 shots to the Bruins 3. If this team is ready to sell out? Bring on the Pens.

I agree, the Sabres ARE a better team than the Bruins IF they decide to play their game and not adopt the game Boston wants us to play...

We definitely saw the future tonight.

Ennis 1G, 1A, +2, 6(!) SOG

Gerbe 1A, +1, 4 SOG

Myers +3, 2 SOG

Ennis leads the team in points in the playoffs. Grier, a 'warrior'. Miller, confident.

Bring on Game 6.

I'm just wondering who Julien thinks is blaming the Bruins for always "starting it." Who ever said that? The accusation is baseless.

As a side note, I keep seeing the replay of Rivet taunting the Boston player (Ryder?) and gain a little respect for him every time. We've ripped Rivet to shreds on this board the past couple weeks, but he proved a gritty and capable leader tonight.
