jawj80 Posted April 22, 2010 Report Posted April 22, 2010 If I was Ryan Miller, I would tell Darcy that I wasn't showing up to training camp next year unless he puts a team in front of me that knows how to really play the game of hockey. Miller went out and was the MVP of the olympics, he's the best goalie in the world and a shoe-in for the Vezina. Three days after his olympic performance, Darcy picks up Raffi Torres, who still has not scored a goal as a Sabre. It's time for Darcy to be a little more proactive in making this team a winner. There is too much dead weight getting paid too much money and it is ruining this team. If Miller is the guy who is going to lead us to a cup Darcy better figure something out soon. If I was Miller and my contract was up, I would leave to go play for a team that will do anything to win. A team where he doesn't have to be the best player every night.

Waste of time I'm afraid as Dom already went down that road, and Darcy still didn't learn a damn thing from it.
Stoner Posted April 22, 2010 Report Posted April 22, 2010 Of course I agree that the Sabres need better everything around Miller -- ownership, coaching, players. But come on, Miller's hands aren't clean after that game. The second goal can't happen. He called himself on it after the game.
PromoTheRobot Posted April 22, 2010 Report Posted April 22, 2010 I was thinking the same thing. Demand a trade or holdout if the team doesn't take some serious steps to improve. PTR
Buffalo Wings Posted April 22, 2010 Report Posted April 22, 2010 I was thinking the same thing. Demand a trade or holdout if the team doesn't take some serious steps to improve. PTR Sorry, but he would come off like a whiny, spoiled brat of an athlete if he did that. Miller has called his teammates out before, but this is over the top. Don't get me wrong...I understand completely that there needs to be changes, but let's at least be professional about it. Like PA said, Miller isn't exactly off the hook for last night, either.
bunomatic Posted April 22, 2010 Report Posted April 22, 2010 You have to believe that Regier rolled out the kool-aid when he was talking contract with Miller.Only problem is that Miller apparently drank it.He signed his contract now he's livin with it.Regier must have told him they would get the pieces because no one wants to play for a losing org.which is exactly what this is.There's no other way of puttin it.

Like PA said, Miller isn't exactly off the hook for last night, either. I don't think it would come off that whiny. There is a difference between saying "I'm amazing do what I say" and "I really want to win and I'm going to do everything I can to do so. Is it really too much to ask for you to do everything YOU can to win?"

Kristian Posted April 22, 2010 Report Posted April 22, 2010 Miller has the cred to pull it off. No one would blame him especially if he publicly gave his reasons. PTR Unless he goes to the press making moronic statements like "I'll forever be a Red Wing", which in truth was Hasek's biggest mistake when it came to his legacy in Buffalo, and the only reason his number isn't retired yet, IMHO.
Derrico Posted April 22, 2010 Report Posted April 22, 2010 I was thinking the same thing. Demand a trade or holdout if the team doesn't take some serious steps to improve. PTR Well they missed the playoffs two years in a row and then won the northeast division this year. That's pretty good improvemen....
Pville29 Posted April 22, 2010 Report Posted April 22, 2010 i said this in a previous thread so i'm just going to paste it I remember when the sabres play vs red wings at detroit (i think it was 1 week after the olympics or something)Miller wanted to win the game SO BAD since he's from michigan his family was there and he wanted to find a little joy since his olympic lost and once again the players let him down and wings won the game and i remember they show miller's face and it was so sad you could see his disappointment and the players they didn't give a f*** for them it was just a lost. And it's the same damn thing with Lalime, when he in the net the team wouldn't score more than 2 goals 1 usually and maybe one more if they were lucky but 3 was too much of an effort for them so lalime got all those lost even when he was playing really good. But knowing this organization they will probably re-sign ellis on 3 years deal and let the little guy play again and will get the same result. WHT WON'T THEY SIGN SOME GOOD PLAYERS AND A REAL VETERAN look how recchi he's having fun vs the sabres I miss numinem not saying that he would be the savior but they have no veterans

static70 Posted April 22, 2010 Report Posted April 22, 2010 If I was Miller, I would grab the puck, skate down the ice with some sick, slick offensive moves, and score a freaking goal.

If you're gonna keep a shorty, it should be him. Ennis has a contract through 2011-12 anyway.
Stoner Posted April 22, 2010 Report Posted April 22, 2010 If I was Miller, I would grab the puck, skate down the ice with some sick, slick offensive moves, and score a freaking goal. It'll have to come from his side of center. I remember reading that rule -- the goalie can't skate past the red line. Otherwise, your scenario is plausible. :)

Otherwise, your scenario is plausible. :) If his teammates can't score with half the equipment as miller ...i find the scenario very unlikely. And your right, the goaltender must stay on his half of center.

No i meant MATT ELLIS and reiger will say that it was the best signing he could do this summer like always
Mbossy Posted April 22, 2010 Report Posted April 22, 2010 No i meant MATT ELLIS and reiger will say that it was the best signing he could do this summer like always Ellis is hardly a 'little guy', that's what threw me off.
FearTheReaper Posted April 22, 2010 Report Posted April 22, 2010 If I was Miller, I would... ...Request a trade to a team that wants to win? Throw game 5 to prove a point? (thats a little extreme) But the top 6 havent shown up yet so whats the difference?
Mbossy Posted April 22, 2010 Report Posted April 22, 2010 If I was Miller, I would... stop every shot from here on out?
FearTheReaper Posted April 22, 2010 Report Posted April 22, 2010 If I was Miller, I would... stop every shot from here on out? Miller could stop 40 plus shots in regulation and our "scorers" still wouldn't put the game away at the other end.
PromoTheRobot Posted April 22, 2010 Report Posted April 22, 2010 Well they missed the playoffs two years in a row and then won the northeast division this year. That's pretty good improvemen.... Yes, Mr. Quinn. PTR
Grinder42 Posted April 23, 2010 Report Posted April 23, 2010 I was thinking the same thing. Demand a trade or holdout if the team doesn't take some serious steps to improve. PTR I say trade Miller.....we could get a whol elote of small players for him and Bumbs like Drewstafford and Connolly.....What a bunch a phonies.....Maybe the Jackass owner will selll the team and move them out of Buffalo as well!
bills_fan_in_raleigh Posted April 23, 2010 Report Posted April 23, 2010 how about sabres just trade him to a team that is willing to support a world class goalie :censored:
