Chara is almost to the point of embarrassing. Acts so tough with his shield on. Big tough guy putting a bucksixty into the bench. How about you play some defense big man. Roy went around him like nothing.

 

Good period for Buffalo. That slash was nasty on Vanek. Right on the knee. Good gawd I hope he's ok. Him being out will really even this series offensively for Boston.

 

Our PP is killng us. We would have put this game away with a goal. Unlucky for Torres. It will come.

Not to be the anti-homer here, but that knee slash happens a 100 times a game. It was no big deal as far as I'm concerned. But I am concerned why Vanek didn't play again.

I beg to differ. Hacks at the legs, sure...a downward slash directly on the knee? Not so much.

The color guy did not even notice it; he said Vanek "lost an edge" before emrick pointed out the slash.

I used to respect Chara - but once you get him upset he just turns nasty and mean. I mean - who can respect a guy who slams a guy half his size into the bench with no time on the clock. Yup Chara, you sure showed him.

I don't know when Vanek got hurt, I think it was when he went into the boards after the slash to his knee........ :wallbash:

I think if Buffalo stays up by 2 with this intensity, Vanek may sit longer.

A BIG pet peeve - taunting the goalie AT ANY TIME; serenade him as he's getting pulled off the ice.

And Chara ... the big Z - ZERO - looked real good against 5' + Ennis. Something Bruins fans should be proud of.

Looked like an awkward fall.. that bozo Boychuk slashed his knee and then continued by pushing Vanek into the boards

 

Might be a bit premature to proclaim him done for the playoffs or even the series.. but I've always been a glass half-full kind of guy

no intent to play the puck- direct, hard downward motion on the right knee. it looks like TV esruvived that, only to take have the hack cause him to fall badly into the boards on his other leg.

WGR said at the intermission they had eyes on team doctors seats. They left to attend to Vanek, and haven't been back yet. Which usually indicates it isn't a minor injury. Always been an outside watcher of the board. Decided to actually get in on the action. Don't hate me. Go Sabres!

I love how ugly everyone is on the Bruins, straight from their coach to the captain. These guys can't play with us so they try every dirty trick in the book.

 

That slash on Vanek reminds me of the Ottawa game where one of our guys had a break away and the Ottawa defender just wound up and took a hugeeee slash at our guy. That should really be a 4-5 minute penalty, a soft hook is fine, but when there's intent to injure, that should be 5 minutes.
