eball Posted April 17, 2010 Report Posted April 17, 2010 This one hurts. Blowing a 2-goal lead at home, and first blown lead in the 3rd all year. Vanek out for who knows how long. Ouch.
bunomatic Posted April 17, 2010 Report Posted April 17, 2010 Best out of 5 going to Boston.I like our chances.Hope Vaneks o.k.
K-9 Posted April 17, 2010 Report Posted April 17, 2010 One word: outworked. Plain and simple. GO SABRES!!!
PromoTheRobot Posted April 17, 2010 Report Posted April 17, 2010 The Sabres got the sh*t beat out of them today. Physically we are no match to the Bruins. Also we are clueless handling the puck in our end. We keep coughing up the puck and today it cost us the game. PTR
SDS Posted April 17, 2010 Report Posted April 17, 2010 Bruins in 6 If this is what you want to post then go away until after the playoffs...
Mikey Posted April 17, 2010 Report Posted April 17, 2010 Our second periods have been not great. Need to bounce back and take the first game in Boston on Monday.
SwampD Posted April 17, 2010 Report Posted April 17, 2010 Leaving Chara unchecked is such a great System. Good thing those passing lanes are plugged up.
Iron Crotch Posted April 17, 2010 Report Posted April 17, 2010 I though the lack of size upfront really hurt us - especially when Vanek went out. If we need a callup, I don't know if another undersized forward (Gerbe) is what we need...
26CornerBlitz Posted April 17, 2010 Report Posted April 17, 2010 Relax!!! It's One to One. Plenty of series left to get things together.
SwampD Posted April 17, 2010 Report Posted April 17, 2010 Relax!!! It's One to One. Plenty of series left to get things together. Shut up.
26CornerBlitz Posted April 17, 2010 Report Posted April 17, 2010 Shut up. Whatever, go ahead and panic Punk!!
rickshaw Posted April 17, 2010 Report Posted April 17, 2010 I though the lack of size upfront really hurt us - especially when Vanek went out. If we need a callup, I don't know if another undersized forward (Gerbe) is what we need... I agree. The guys tried, but the smaller player can only do so much. The PP has to get sorted out. It's the difference in this game tonight. Miller far to aggressive on their 3rd goal. Let the play come to you. Not a good loss. Law of averages finally caught up to us when leading after 3 periods . We're not out of this. We need to be better though. It seems we sit back too much until it clues in. Myers had a tough night in his own end. Can't count the last minus on the EN goal, but he definitely struggled tonight.
Ghost of Dwight Drane Posted April 17, 2010 Report Posted April 17, 2010 If this is what you want to post then go away until after the playoffs... I guess that would be in 10 days.
Stoner Posted April 17, 2010 Report Posted April 17, 2010 If it were only a word. http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/physicality
Saudi Arabia Rob Posted April 17, 2010 Report Posted April 17, 2010 It was pretty clear they got outworked and outhit. The game played out pretty much like the first game, but the difference was the Bruins won the third period. As the NBC announcers pointed, Miller seemed to be getting a bit too aggressive at times. At least two of the goals caught him way out...the 4 on 2 and the first Ryder goal. Agreed, if they call up someone, it needs to be a big body...Gerbe doesn't help the cause at this point.
shack & duff Posted April 17, 2010 Report Posted April 17, 2010 Mancari is about TV's size but you wonder if Gerbe could play well in his old stomping grounds. That was a third period that will leave a nasty taste for the rest of the day.
G-Daddy Posted April 17, 2010 Report Posted April 17, 2010 Bring up Mancari. This!!! ^^^ We got outworked in the third, unacceptable!!
Mikey Posted April 17, 2010 Report Posted April 17, 2010 The PP has to get sorted out. It's the difference in this game tonight. Yes.
bunomatic Posted April 17, 2010 Report Posted April 17, 2010 I've said it before but on Charas goal, watch it from the shooters angle and 3 Sabres could have literally stepped in front of that floater but all 3 were soft on the play.Unforegivable in an important game like this.
Stoner Posted April 17, 2010 Report Posted April 17, 2010 A fitting result. You can't play like ###### and expect to win two playoff games. Sabres are pretty lucky they're not down two. 5-1 Boston after they took Vanek out.
DaFan Posted April 17, 2010 Report Posted April 17, 2010 Damn it. Exactly! All streaks must be broken.. just wish it wasn't today. 32-0 when leading after 2 ::sigh:: Get your heads on straight boys!
SabreInFla Posted April 17, 2010 Report Posted April 17, 2010 If this is what you want to post then go away until after the playoffs... Too many injuries, not enough size.
Stoner Posted April 17, 2010 Report Posted April 17, 2010 That's the big problem with showing replays over and over. They play begins to look very different. I have a hard time picturing that as an attempt to take Vanek out. Then again, I completely forget what his injury was that he missed time for. I'm missing your point. You think NHL players accidentally do that with their sticks?
