carpandean Posted April 18, 2010 Report Posted April 18, 2010 I turned it on and 5 seconds later, game over.
matter2003 Posted April 18, 2010 Report Posted April 18, 2010 I turned it on and 5 seconds later, game over. Yeah that was crazy...reminded me of Drury's OT winner against Ottawa in the first 20 seconds... Montreal has to feel sick...leading 4-1 late in the second and then 5-4 with under 5 minutes left in the 3rd... Halak had a meltdown in net...

Yep, they may have to start Price, because he may just be shell shocked after this.

At this rate, all the series are going to 6 or 7. I'm suspect on the whole Rivet/Spacek cunundrum and 2nd round picks tossed around.
Claude_Verret Posted April 18, 2010 Report Posted April 18, 2010 Maybe he is a NHL fan that is enjoying quality hockey? Some hockey fans own jerseys from many teams. Please. But you're right he probably also owns a Caps jersey. <_< If he goes out of his way to wear a Sabres jersey to a Caps playoff game, then you'd think that he'd at least be rooting for Montreal.
Hawk Posted April 18, 2010 Report Posted April 18, 2010 Keith Jones was tearing Green a new behind after the game. He said his lazy terrible play is why he was left off the Canadian Olympic team.
eball Posted April 18, 2010 Report Posted April 18, 2010 It really is pretty amazing that through two games, every series is 1-1 (except CHI/NAS, obviously).
SDS Posted April 18, 2010 Report Posted April 18, 2010 Please. But you're right he probably also owns a Caps jersey. <_ if he goes out of his way to wear a sabres jersey caps playoff game then you think that at least be rooting for montreal.> I'm a Sabres fan who lives in MD. I do not own a caps jersey nor a Sabres jersey. I cheer for the caps when they aren't playing the Sabres. I have lived here for 20 years. Is there really a problem with this?
carpandean Posted April 18, 2010 Report Posted April 18, 2010 Bad night for the class of 1970. Each team blew an early 2-0 lead and a chance to leave home ice with the advantage intact.

Well it depends, as a Sabres fan, do you really want to see the Caps advance past Montreal? All I'm saying is that I find it strange that someone would wear a Sabres jersey in the sea of Caps red and not be rooting for the obvious team a Sabres fan would like to see win that particular series.

There are Sabres fans who hate their division rivals. There also are Sabres fans who would rather face Washington than Montreal in a seven-game series. Maybe this guy falls into one of those categories. Could you really root for Ottawa to win a series, no matter the possible implications for the Sabres down the road?

Could you really root for Ottawa to win a series, no matter the possible implications for the Sabres down the road? Interesting possibilities, who knows, but you shouldn't let your hatred of a team blind you in terms of what is best for your team. I hate Montreal. I'm indifferent towards the Caps. That doesn't mean I'd rather face the Caps than Montreal. If Montreal wins that series it greatly increases the Sabres chances of reaching the Cup in my opinion. Assuming they can take care of business against the Bruins of course. If it was Ottawa, yes I'd be rooting for them too despite our struggles against them. Home ice and all that. Bottom line, as a Sabres fan you really can't argue that the Caps being out early wouldn't be a good thing.
eball Posted April 18, 2010 Report Posted April 18, 2010 I forgot the NBA playoffs started yesterday, so I looked at the results. Every home team won, and the slimmest margin of victory was 9. How refreshing are the NHL playoffs where seven of eight series (and it's good bet we'll see a clean sweep today in Chicago) are tied after two games? Regardless of what the Sabres do, the NHL playoffs are the best in professional sports.
DaFan Posted April 18, 2010 Report Posted April 18, 2010 It really is pretty amazing that through two games, every series is 1-1 (except CHI/NAS, obviously). I was thinking the same thing.. so who goes up today? And who is everyone cheering for?
SwampD Posted April 18, 2010 Report Posted April 18, 2010 I'm pretty sure that nothing makes me change the channel faster than seeing Mike Milbury and Jeremy Roenick sitting at a desk. Even faster than hearing Rachael Ray's voice.
Assquatch Posted April 18, 2010 Report Posted April 18, 2010 Would you prefer Part Time Sabre Fan? Seems a lot of you show up this time of year. Pretty much the only negative that comes from the Sabres making the playoffs. I am ashamed to dignify this with a response but I am here every day, and while I don't post much, I have posted in each of the last 12 months (which was as far back as the "show posts" button returned). That includes the offseason. Part-time indeed. Don't worry - I wont hold my breath for your apology. Sorry to have ruined your day by posting on "your" message board.

I also fall into this category Assquatch. With all these apologize being thrown around lately. I used to post alot more often but do not feel it is necessary most of the time. I will check daily, but if nothing grabs me, I will keep moving forward. Playoff hockey is different, it is the only sport in which the harder working team will usually always win the battle in the long run. The regular season "is" a different season. All the imperfections show up alittle more clearly and the matchups more revalent. Everything from white collar or not, I dont care where you're from, get over it. Keep it on hockey or label it OT

How can you not be glued to your 50" HDTV knowing that the next goal could be the game-winner, OT or not? You don't see many games in the NBA playoffs with that type of intensity...at least not until their conference finals. I also love being able to flip between playoff games. I just watched the Penguins-Senators finish the 2nd and I'm able to watch the Devils-Flyers play a tie game in the 3rd.
will Posted April 19, 2010 Report Posted April 19, 2010 how can any person who labels themselves an appreciator of hockey have any sense of pride watching daniel alfredson (sp? --> i don't care) play hockey? orpik went down in the corner, and his first reaction is to attempt a cross-check to the back of his head (into the boards, no less). zero class. aside from that salo guy who nearly beheaded modano years ago, he's the one player i sincerely hope gets injured every time he steps on the ice...franchise loyalty or not.

Alfredsson was pissed orpik grabbed his injured shoulder. The knee to the back was a bit much IMO.
will Posted April 19, 2010 Report Posted April 19, 2010 nice shot of the ice girls there in chi-town after the hawks' goal. they were happy.

carpandean Posted April 19, 2010 Report Posted April 19, 2010 Wow, Boyle just backhanded the puck past his own goaltender from the side boards to lose in OT. They had out-shot Colorado something like 55-15, but the game went to OT tied at 0. Crazy.
