Buffalo Wings Posted April 21, 2010 Report Posted April 21, 2010 If you don't want to feel as bad about the Sabres, watch the Devils. They're down 3-1 in the 3rd, trying to kill of a 5-on-3 Philly PP. In other words, they're in deep doodoo and about to go down 3 games to 1. EDIT: 4-1 in favor of the Phlyers. Even Doc Emrick isn't excited anymore.
bunomatic Posted April 21, 2010 Report Posted April 21, 2010 I have to say it really is a joy to watch sid the kid and the penguins school those chippy, dirty, cheap senators. The sens were so cocky during and after that first game and now after the game tonight they were losing it.Imagine, they actually think they can intimidate this penguins team with these loser antics. What a joke.
carpandean Posted April 21, 2010 Report Posted April 21, 2010 As things look now, the winner of our series will play Pittsburgh, while Washington will play Philly. No guarantees, but just how it looks now.
rickshaw Posted April 21, 2010 Report Posted April 21, 2010 nhl.com's Situation Room says: "Video Review was used to determine whether the puck was kicked into the net by Vancouver's Daniel Sedin with a kicking motion. Upon review, it was determined that the puck was propelled into the net by a kicking motion. This was not a deflection. The direction the puck was moving, and the force of the skate, were the determining factors in concluding 'No goal.'" Wow, they really do make this stuff up as they go. Have been since Brett Hull
FearTheReaper Posted April 21, 2010 Report Posted April 21, 2010 What an end to the Avs,Sharks OT. Murray takes 2 Avs in open ice that make space for Pavelski, and he labels it top shelf! Series tied 2-2 headed back to the tank. I'm also loving the way the Preds are handling the Hawks too. Completly outworking them all over the ice, and out scoring them to boot. This is an upset i chose from the start and i'm hoping my man Shea Weber keeps running guys over, and blasting pucks past Neime to seal the deal. How about Pekka Rinne standing firm night in and out? I cant stand the Hawks, and pat kane.

No guarantees, but just how it looks now. Hmm...do you think the Boston fans are drooling over the prospect of playing Matt Cooke's team for at least 4 games?
Stoner Posted April 21, 2010 Report Posted April 21, 2010 Have been since Brett Hull What I want to know is how the league has informed and educated the media and fans about this fairly dramatic new interpretation of the rule governing kicking the puck into the net? I am guessing very few people were aware of it. It really is 1999 all over again.
Chief Enabler Posted April 21, 2010 Report Posted April 21, 2010 As great as Spacek is to be interviewed, he is no longer my favorite to watch. That honor now goes to Malkin. Your favorite player to watch was Spacek?
SwampD Posted April 21, 2010 Report Posted April 21, 2010 Your favorite player to watch was Spacek?   Watch being interviewed. "make play happen score some more goals."
Chief Enabler Posted April 21, 2010 Report Posted April 21, 2010 Watch being interviewed. "make play happen score some more goals." Simple.to the point.what's the problem?
SwampD Posted April 21, 2010 Report Posted April 21, 2010 Simple.to the point.what's the problem? Let's see if I can get this right this time. I meant, "Spacek was my favorite player to watch being interview."

Buffalo Wings Posted April 23, 2010 Report Posted April 23, 2010 Could be worse, everyone...the Devils are making tee times for tomorrow morning. Wow.
carpandean Posted April 23, 2010 Report Posted April 23, 2010 Now, what Staal just did was goaltender interference. Edit: And one has fallen.
SwampD Posted April 23, 2010 Report Posted April 23, 2010 Now, what Staal just did was goaltender interference. Edit: And one has fallen. Yep, but the Spezza chrosscheck, at the very least, should have also been a dive on McKee.
nobody Posted April 23, 2010 Report Posted April 23, 2010 Could be worse, everyone...the Devils are making tee times for tomorrow morning. Wow. Something to make the Sabres feel better about themselves?
carpandean Posted April 23, 2010 Report Posted April 23, 2010 Wow, Anderson is off. Definitely not playing like the goaltender that had a 51-shot OT shutout win the other night.
bunomatic Posted April 23, 2010 Report Posted April 23, 2010 Look at those flyers, what an inspiration and example of what a team can accomplish if they have heart and a desire to win at all costs.Missing arguably their 2 best top six forwards and they eliminate Jersey and make it look easy.Take a good hard look Buffalo. There's a story line for you to emulate Friday night.
deluca67 Posted April 23, 2010 Report Posted April 23, 2010 Something to make the Sabres feel better about themselves? Why would it?
Kristian Posted April 23, 2010 Report Posted April 23, 2010 Why would it? Well, Quinn's feeling better I'm sure, it'll make his excuses sound more credible. "I don't think we choked at all, lower seeds beat higher seeds all the time. Just look at the Flyers/Devils series..." :wallbash:

"I don't think we choked at all, lower seeds beat higher seeds all the time. You have a solid system with offensive players like Parise, Zajac, & Elias, one of the best goalies in the world (though not the same brick wall he has been), and you make a move for Ilya Kovalchuck and finish as the #2 seed in the conference. Yet you get bounced in the first round again. At least some people here had a feeling the Sabres *could* lose in the first round. I doubt many thought the Devils would get shoved around like they did.

That team is less than the sum of its parts. I'd expect some of NJ's players to become available this summer (in addition to Kovy and Paul Martin, both of whom are UFAs). There was some friction between Lemaire and Langenbrunner this year -- I'd love to see the Sabres get him. He's 6'1", 200, a RW, age 34, and had 19-42-61 this year, and was NJ's captain and the US Olympic team's captain. He's under contract for 1 more year at $2.8MM (this, btw, is what Pommer should be making instead of $5.3MM). We could grow old and die waiting for Roy or Pommer to turn into a guy like him.
