Joined in progress, and they probably don't get local TV to fill the gap? Very poor planning on the NHL's part, particularly given the Blackhawks' performance this season. And what's with Versus not showing any of the Game 7 matchups? Instead the national audience is going to get Crosby and Ovechkin shoved down their throats.

And as for Chicago, well, it's not like they've been faithful fans until recently (cf. Washington), so whatever happens to them, happens. But I'm sure that each team has a local station that will pick up the slack.
iamdannytanner Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 So I get boned if i don't have CBC eh?
FearTheReaper Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 I'm pretty pissed as a direct dtv subscriber. We dont have CBC.
spndnchz Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 I'm pretty pissed as a direct dtv subscriber. We dont have CBC. Cuum ovr 2 the dark side. TWC.
bunomatic Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 I get cbc but unfortunately being west coast and in Canada I doubt very much I'll get to see two U.S. based teams. It'll be a Canadian team vs. whoever they're playing. :wallbash:
spndnchz Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 Bookmark me: http://www.nhl.com/i...s.htm?id=524941 full round 1 schedule. OOOOoooo Playoffs. My nipples r hard.
thesportsbuff Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 Will any of these games be on MSG then??? Or if I don't get CBC I'm ######?
spndnchz Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 Will any of these games be on MSG then??? Or if I don't get CBC I'm ######? I'd assume all games on MSG. Plus channel 700 for home games like the regular season. Thrs no way they let that advertising $ slip by. I shld b'n n bed by now for class.
repster Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 The games that aren't on VS will be on MSG. That's the way it has gone in previous years - this year won't be any different. It wouldn't make any sense to not have the games on local TV somehow - and hey, you'll get RJ and Harry instead of the VS guys. I would bet money on this. I have no choice anyway - CBC for me.
FearTheReaper Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 Cuum ovr 2 the dark side. TWC. Lol, i dont pay for it, so it doesn't matter to me. It just so happens that i'm going to actually be home on thursday, and i dont get the channel. Luck eh?
bunomatic Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 I watched alot of games this year on the pc at atdhe.net-I'm not sure if that'll work for the playoffs?Give it a try if you can't find a feed.
TheMadCap Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 Here's a dumb question: If you have Center Ice, you get em all, correct? EDIT: Just called DTV rep and he confirmed that CI subscribers get em!

Bummer though that the CBC broadcast isn't available in HD on Time Warner. Because if that, I will be watching those games on Versus.
LabattBlue Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 Damn. I don't know what happened to the part of the post with all 1st round games listed. Can the OP edit this thread and repost them? Thanks [edited] Never mind. I found the info and pasted it back in.
wallybarthman Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 To clear things up: For the events that are joined in progress, both NHL Center Ice Subscribers AND local viewers will get the whole game via the Regional Sports Network. The JIP games are just bonus coverage to fill the gap between the end of the early game and the start of the late game. As far as the Sabres games that aren't on Versus, those will be on MSG. As of right now (Monday @ 3pm) only the National coverage schedule has been set. Later today or tomorrow they'll release the Local coverage schedule. Home games will be in HD, away games won't, etc - same deal as the regular season.
Assquatch Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 (Yes, I'm pissing off the Hockey Gods) (I don't care) I played with the seedings a bit to figure out who I needed to pull for in the first round. Obviously, I had to assume the Sabres advance and therefore the Bruins don't. If both WAS and NJD advance, Sabres get NJD in 2nd round. If only one of WAS/NJD advance, Sabres get PIT/OTT winner. If neither WAS/NJD advance, Sabres get MON. Go Caps and Devils (and of course Sabres)!
Pville29 Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 I hope jersey lose and pittsburg too so we can face ottawa. We can beat the sens YES WE CAN!
eball Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 I'd say the East certainly has the more compelling 1st round matchups. BOS/BUF and NJ/PHI are divisional rivalries; WAS/MON matches the Presidents Cup winner against the most decorated NHL franchise; and PIT/OTT may be the jewel of them all. In the West? SJ/COL and VAN/LAK should be entertaining, but the CHI/NAS and DET/PHX matchups sound like yawners.
Chief Enabler Posted April 13, 2010 Report Posted April 13, 2010 Here's a dumb question: If you have Center Ice, you get em all, correct? EDIT: Just called DTV rep and he confirmed that CI subscribers get em! Correct, but Versus trumps Center Ice (which is unfortunate). Sometimes NHL Network & NBC will trump too. When the last 3 minutes of regulation is going on and Versus chops around from game to game; its nice to stay on Center Ice whenever possible.

If Quick holds it together VAN/LAK could go the length.

Correct sir, I do realize that NBC/VS trumps the CI, but I'll take what I can get!
nfreeman Posted April 13, 2010 Report Posted April 13, 2010 In the EC, other than the Sabres' series, I'm most looking forward to NJ-Philly. Philly dominated the regular season series between these 2. NJ is consistently good but they look very beatable and have gotten bounced in the 1st round 2 years in a row. In the WC, they all seem about equally entertaining, although I kinda expect SJ and Chicago to win easily.
Chief Enabler Posted April 13, 2010 Report Posted April 13, 2010 In the WC, they all seem about equally entertaining, although I kinda expect SJ and Chicago to win easily. I guess San Jose/Chicago in the final is the one to wait for, that would entertain me.
cdexchange Posted April 14, 2010 Report Posted April 14, 2010 20 minutes til the playoffs start. B-) Got both EC games programmed on the DVR, so I won't miss a minute. Love that the start times are staggered a half hour too so we can skip the intermissions. Let's go Pens! Do we discuss tonight's games in here, or should there be a thread for each game?
